It seems like a Russian team gets to visit Leigh every season. It must be the rugby league equivalent of being sent to a Siberian gulag ;-)

I agree, I think to get the best out of these teams they need to be playing opposition that would give them a game, one year Strela Kazan ran thornhill close, maybe entering these teams into a BARLA cup, depending on how seasons run

Possibly the Frecnh cup, but you still have the issue of them playing games outside their season, Im not 100% on the russian playing months but i know one of the problems in the Challenge cup is the round they play in is in their pre-season.

Im sure they do take positives out of thier trips here, but I feel more needs to be done if this intersting ascpect of the Challenge cup is to become more than a novelty.

You have got to say this game from 2005 (i think) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVo_27fKEcc there is no doubt Strela kazan took more from this game than most of their walkovers in the RRL, but 64-12 thrashings and the inevitible regarding this years Loko V Leigh game it doesnt look like we will see a russian side winning in the CC this time
