Leeds 70 - 0 SM Pia Att:7,705

Wigan 16 - 10 UTC Att: 5,906

UTC would have won if the game was in France. I have word from a Wigan fan who attended that a scandalous decision to award a try to Wigan on about 70 minutes robbed the French of a win. He says a Wigan player was clearly over the dead ball line when he 'scored' but it was ignored by the officials. He said UTC have some top level players, particularly Berthaneze (SP?) the hooker who he says could match anyone in the UK and Fakir who dominated in the pack.

St Helens 62 - 0 York Knights Att: 6,640

York tried hard but it was always an uphill struggle, despite very impressive performances from the York half backs. This would have been a record score had Saints not bombed so many chances.

The game was totally overshadowed though by the protests against the imminent sacking of Ian Millward. The fans were 100% behind Millward and let the board, particularly Sean McGuire know how they felt. Constant chanting in support of Millward continued throughout the game and with about 20 to go a swarm of fans stormed into the blcok of seating housing the Directors and press box. This resulted in security being out numbered, but thankfully the protests were kept to a very vocal but ultimately peaceful protest, which as I left at 10.30 was still ongoing. There were thousands still in the ground as I left.

Sean McGuire's days must surely be as numbered as Millward's are. He received a lot of very personal abuse tonight, with the majority of supporters clearly singling him out as the main hate figure in the pathetic back stabbing of Ian Millward.

Toulouse 32 - 18 Doncaster Att: ???

Hull 26 - 24 Bradford Att: 11,350

Barrow 8 - 50 Widnes Att: 2,599

Leigh 40 - 20 Halifax Att: 3,300

Salford 12 - 26 London Att: 2,339

And Wigan 16 UTC 10, after apparently being down 8-4 with 5 minutes to go before Denis Moran set up two tries.

Still can't believe the goings on at Saints. Am glad fans made their voices heard to their club, and also that things didn't get too out of hand.

It's just a shame York had to be there! They tried extremely hard and should be proud of their performance. The travelling support for the Knights was also top notch both in numbers (Around 500 I would guess) and noise levels. They certainly have more original songs on their hymm sheets than the clubs in Super league.

As long as they made a good effort through the whole game, then they can hold their heads up. The score was always going to show the class of the Saints squad, and despite the amount of tries scored, I'm hearing that we managed to stop a few here and there as well .

Good to hear a fair amount of Knights supporters got over there for the Friday night game. There's some guys that work quite hard thinking up new songs, and there's usually a drum or two to keep people in time!

Strong first half by Hull, up 20-0 at half time. Bradford didn't really get going until it was too late.

Congrats to Toulouse on winning through. Can they land another home game in the draw, against Widnes/Salford/London would be their best bet?
