Strong win to Hull!

Good long kick and chase game in the first half, and dominated Saints at the play the ball, shutting down the flair of Cunningham and Long.

Saints were stronger after halftime to tie up the match, but Hull went on with it and played some good footy, and Saints folded after about 65 minutes.

Thanks for the comments re:magazine. Glad you enjoyed it and issue 2 is coming on nicely.
I just listened on net and they said over 16,000 crowd.

Richard Horne has to be in the GB 17, I'd have him fullback but they will play Wellens there. As long as he is in the squad though he can play anywhere in the backs.

Horne played great today. Agree he would do well somewhere in the tri-nations sqaud. To me the halfback spot is wide open, Long had nothing today.

Wellens was disappointing, but not much a fullback or wingers can do behind a well dominated side I guess.

Best of luck with issue 2, will be looking forward to it!

Hull were fantastic today.

Since 2001 they've been up there in the big 5 but never able to beat the big sides when it really mattered, in my opinion.

They scored some lucky tries but their defence was magnificent.

Bartman, who are the other obvious options for half? Not just half, but their long kicking game last year is what ultimately let them down, Harris was better imo.

Cheers LXIII, now edited in.

Sun Down, I'm really stuck about who would be the best realistic scrum half for GB, and everyone's got an opinion. Sean Long is the incumbent and would be a low-risk option, but has also failed to ever really spark against the Aussies over the years?

I beginning to think it's time for more of a risk. I think they'll abpid picking Deacon (for similar reasons to Long), and I'm not sure Harris is a certainty on this year's form (though will probably come close to being picked due to "Bradford ties"?).

Richard Horne would bring a kicking game and good skills, but Rob Burrow and Danny McGuire have to well be in contention. If we assume 13. Sculthrope and 6. Sinfield, then a Leeds halves combo might give that extra edge? Covers kicking and a bit of a spark at first receiver?

I have my doubts on whether Scully will be fit for the Tri Nations. He hasn't looked right all year.

Burrow or Horne to go With Sinfield in the halves. McGuire off the bench.

I'm a Saint but I can admit that Long's tried and tested and hasn't done it against the Aussies. Good player in ESL but looks out of his depth on the international scene.

Will the venue for the CC final be sold out? Whats the capacity there anyway, 60K or something?

Big stadium. Will end up sold out for sure. Already down to restricted view only in some ticket categories, and only taking phone orders from now on.
