hi could some1 please xplain to me the challenge cup thanks is it a midweek comp ?

The CC is played on weekends and takes the place of the league programme when the SL teams enter at round four ( I think . )The first round consists of amateur (junior ) teams and a couple of Russian teams . The next round sees the remaining amateurs battle it out to reach round three and a shot at the NL teams and the French teams . Round four sees the SL teams enter the comp.It`s played on a straight knockout basis with the first team drawn being at home . The last four teams playing in two semi finals at neutral venues . The winners then progress to the big day at Cardiff .
