At the start of the competition most of the discussion around Champions league was centered on Arsenal's chances of knocking over Real Madrid. Both of these sides have looked a tad shaky of late, although only a fool would write them off at this early point of the campaign. Nevertheless if I had to put down my potential finalists at this point, I'd have to run with Valencia and AC Milan.

What have you got against the Germans, Old Son, an unwillingness to forgiveand forget the War(s), or some depressing life experiences behind the wheel of an old Volkswagon? At any rate, I don't think you'll have much to worry about, with Bayern already departed and Borussia &amp; Leverkusen unlikely to progress past the second round. If real got their act together they could win again, but I have a gut feeling that the current malaise may linger longer than expected for the Spanish giants.

I just wish! Liverpool are kicking arse in Britain, but will be hard pressed getting over Basel to progress to the next round. They are capable of getting over Basel, but even as a Reds fanatic I'd be suprised if they got further than the quarters.

my first car was a volkswagon passat,i eventually took to it with the chainsaw as i quite liked the idea of being a convertable owner,unfortunatly unseasonal raindestroyed it,money prevented me fom buying a roof for it.

i've always had a dislike for german soccer,it's very dour and robotic, i've seen them win to many penalty shootouts for my liking.
in the 80's i hated there goalkeeper,his name may been schumaker,he was so bloody arrogant,he single handedlybeat the shit out ofthe poor old french in a world cup semi.

i'm not sure if i have anything against germany,just the grouts who reside in there borders

I was unfortunate to see this totally crap DVD a few weeks back called 'Highway' where this joker used the same method of worksmanship to turn a conventional sedan into a convertable. I thought that this was the sole redeeming piece of worthwhile original creativity in the entire film, but it turns out that I was giving it scant credit that it didn't deserve on that score. One can but hope that the movie wasn't based on more of your personal experiences... You never at any stage did a drug addled, cross country roadtrip flit to avoid mob henchman hellbent on breaking both your feet, I suppose????!!!!

As for the Germans... Yeah, I guess they can't be accused of ever having been an excitement machine. They do practise a highly effective brand of football, however, and I'm happy enough to have dour Kraut types like Hamann &amp; Babbel in the Liverpool line-up.

i'm surprised Chelsea has'nt recriuted any grouts,we could do with a couple of physical fullbacks cutting down the michael owens of this world.
