I dont understand all this concern about Hooker. It's Newcastle, the wooden spooners in the first round. We'll get by. As for the season, we have 2 first grade hookers in the 30 and one or two possible back ups, how many do you want? Fullback coverage is much worse.

Atkinson deserves his shot at No 7 but Reed has set the bar pretty high. IMO Reed's performance was the best and most complete performance by a Dragons half back in a long, long time-including Hunt's better games. What impressed me most was the pace at which he played and his assuredness. I can only remember one error and our attack just buzzed with him running it. Yes, we can dismiss it as just one performance but damn-it was that good and he looked a class above his own teammates and better than his seasoned opposite (Smith) who was praised by Holbrook for his display.

If Atko nails it, we'll suddenly have depth and selection dilemmas around No 7 to dream of.

Stewart to 13 Sele to prop rotation NT or JH to bench much more viable.

It was a no brainer that Bennett would field a 2nd string side that would be perfect to further blood any up and coming player of the future rather than put more hours into a player of a failed past.

IMO this is more about BL is a good bloke and should be on the plane to Vegas than it is about what’s best for the club.

It was just about our B team as well, plus they did have the great Keaon Koloamatangi destroying us

It's usually the 2nd trial for both teams, but with the Vegas trip it's our 2nd, their 1st. Hence the disparity in the line-ups. (Cowboys in a similar situation v Penrith). Also praying for no injuries. Jesus Allah Buddha, I love you all

What i got from that is keep it simple, just control the game early, let the forwards do their job then the halves have space.
Sounds simple as long as the forwards are making meters otherwise will be kicking from our own half.

2025 halves - Given Kyle isn't a specialist half and LKT had little NRL experience I can't imagine there would of been a lot of talk and great game management from them.

2026 halves - I'm sure Atkinson learned a heap from Trindell that will be helpfull and has to be an improvement.

Liddle also in there.

I agree with your comments re Stewart, Sele, Nick and Jacob. I’ll wait and see what happens when the team is named for round 1. Fingers crossed
