Sourced from Bulldogs Website:

New recruit Chase Stanley has today officially become a Bulldog with November 1 signalling the beginning of season 2014.

Stanley will join the Bulldogs on a two year deal that will see him at the Club at least through until the end of season 2015.

The 24-year-old joins the Bulldogs after two stints with the Dragons (2007-09 and 2012-13) and also the Storm (2010-11). In that time the Hurstville United junior has played a total of 81 games in the NRL after making his debut back in round 2 of season 2007 (as a 17-year-old).

Stanley will reunite with an old team mate, Josh Reynolds, when he arrives next week for training after the pair played a couple of seasons together at the St George Dragons many years ago.

Depth signing I suppose?? Lafai & Josh Morris are both champion centres.. more strength than at our club even,

and Krisnan Inu..who may play fullback next season..

i would like to be the first to congratulate the bulldogs for ridding us of this very very average player....

This is a calculated effort by the Bulldogs. They have also signed 2 of the younger Stanley boys. I have no doubt that Kyle will be on their radar when he eventually comes off contract

Much unloved by the majority of St George extremist supporters who hang around here. Watch him step up a level as a player at the Bulldogs under Hasler. Good luck chase hopefully the Bulldogs supporters aren't as cruel.

Oh forgot about Inu, what an embarrassment of riches! Though I have a feeling Inu is one of those players always close to getting the boot.. but there is no argument when hes in form & ofcourse his goalkicking is insane.. actually every bulldogs goalkicker is like that, I blame Halligan or Elmasri, whoever coaches them.

Definitely agree though, I fully supported Chases's selection (at centre) this year due to Coopers injury, but no reservations about getting rid of him prior to 2014.

Very astute if it is.. its a make of break year for Kyle coming up, he has to give us something.. and we have to let him play in his preferred position (for whatever grade).

Chase sucks.

I was his biggest supporter when he came from Melbourne.

After watching his stint at St George I'm glad to see the back of him.

Let's see how his bro goes this year.

Wouldn't be surprised to hear him gone for good after another injury

The only position Chase excelled at all year was goal kicker. Other than that, unfortunately, he didn't fair well and was easily outrun and outplayed by the opposing players. No real loss IMO.

Oh well, it was coming and it's the right call but the club could have handled his development a lot better IMO. He came through as a big, athletic player but for whatever reason lost bulk and with that much of his effectiveness.

He'll be in the mix for centre and wing positions at the Bulldogs, their depth isn't particularly strong there.

But yeah as said it looks like they will make a play for Kyle.

stanley's bulk as you called it was nothing more then "puppy fat". he came up through the grades as a physically big kid, but never seemed to physically develop enough muscle and strength to compete at first grade level.

yeah he only played about 40 games in his first stint at the Dragons ( 2007-09 ). He showed ( the dreaded word ) potential when he debuted at 17, but never really went further than a solid first grader. ( injuries seemed to impact on this confidence, especially in attack )

Call it whatever you like, it's clear that he had natural size that for whatever reason wasn't capitalised on. I think being pushed to play centre had a lot to do with it, less emphasis on size and strength as well as an unfortunate run with injuries

Too slow for any position in the backline and not good enough defensively to be in the forwards.

To be perfectly fair, Chase does have some skill @ centre, when he got earlier with some space, he probably broke the line more than any other Dragons back (Dugan aside).

Much of our backline struggled as a result of our halves and attacking structure and I expect it to improve in 2014, I just hope/pray its a quantum improvement...

Regardless Chase isnt a potential star, id rather put the development time into someone else, but he wasnt as bad as our team made him look in 2013.

for every line break he made he created 3 line breaks for the oppostion due to his poor reads in defence...

Please just DONT put Chase anywhere near the same category as KYLE!!!
In a lot of cases brothers in the NRL one is way better than the other, sadly, but true, good luck Chase, thanks for your service you tried hard brother....but to the fans please realise KYLE is a CHAMPION ferrari in the world class of potential halves even centres, short memories from 2011 and 2010 when Kyle even as a centre CARVED!
that 5 minutes against Cronulla last year at five eigth proved he is not only up to it but is ALL CLASS give him a go poor guy, its a tough act this NRL give the guy a fair go ok hes worth it youll see GO KYLE!!! GO DRAGONS!! more positivity less knocking!!!
