A bit mixed up but what a team.

Needs more Gavin Catanac and oh no what's his face with the head band and always lead the tackle count. I am so embarrassed I can't get the name.

and if Phil Gould, Warran Ryan and even Brian Smith had those blokes under their wings they'd be a top 8 side..a few of them punched above their weight but a few of them never reached their true potential because of the lack of real guidence.

It's just like back to the future!

Difference is that those guys actually looked like they wanted to play in our jersey......the current crop look like their not interested enough at times......

I just remember those guys back then trying their hearts out, week in, week out!

If this team had half the enthusiasm and determination that those guys had, we would have won 2 or 3 comps easily!

In a way i miss those days, i used to love Mahon, Woods, King, Erickson, Weston etc....really took pride in the Eels jersey!

I agree Kornstar.....they were true underdogs and played their guts out

blokes like Danny Crnkovich and Brian Jackson were some of my favourites in that era, nothing of them - especially Danny - but gee they tried hard and both were fast, elusive and gave 100% all the time

In 1993 Lee Oudenryan was my favourite player, i don't know why but i used to think he was awesome.....

I used to like Crnkovich too......

I loved those days. You always went to a game knowing the boys would put in, and they played some damn fine attacking footy.
Even though they struggled, it was enjoyable to watch.
They had hearts the size of Phar Lap.

no, don't back peddle about Lee Oudenryn - he was one of my favourites too for a while, might have been for many fans i think

it was probably that he just literally came from nowhere and had such blinding, pure speed - and that he beet Martin Offiah in that foot race the night we beat the touring Great Britain side when we couldn't beat a rug and were the deadset current Cronulla's of the competition - it was one of the only games we won all year and it was basically their full strength test team

I was in the stand that night against GB and it was one of the highlights of my life (yes i am sad) watching us win that night, Oudenryn winning that race was the icing on the cake for me!!!!
