Chev Walker up for grabs

At the end of this season Chev is off contract, we have to keep him away from those Union scumbags because apparently Bath RU are sniffing around.

I'd love to see Chev come to the NRL, it is a fact that the late Sharks CEO Steve Rogers tried to sign him last year.
One story doing the rounds is that Rhinos boss Gary Hetherington is stalling so i hope that if he dosen't go to the NRL then some other club will move for him, as long as it's Rugby League i don't mind.

Chev is not just a centre these days, i thought he was excellent playing in the 2nd row for GB, making an impact off the bench.

I think you're probably right that Hetherington is stalling. Some people never learn. He did it with Calderwood and lost him.

Wouldn't Chev potentially face some trouble getting a visa/work permit in another country?

As long as he doesn't join the ranks of those leaving the game for union is the main thing.

Agree, he was one of GB's standout players last year's TN I would like to see him in the NRL one day. Why doesn't Les Catalans have a shot at recruiting him and some other GB internationals? I am sure they would like the lifestyle (in France) and should have a bit of cash too.

In todays papers it was revealed that Gold Coast offered Chev a contract but have withdrawn their offer as they can't wait any longer for an answer, shame that. I'm still confident Richie Mathers will join them though.

GOLD Coast have withdrawn an offer to great Britain winger Chev Walker - this from the 26th March 2006:

"We made the offerin November and withdrew it in February," said Titans managing director Michael Searle.

"We didn't want to sit around waiting."

The Titans are still sweating on England fullback Richie Mathers, who they hope to sign shortly.
