A war of words is brewing between Wallabies coach John Connolly and his predecessor, current Queensland coach Eddie Jones.
Connolly is furious fullback Chris Latham will miss the entire Super 14 season after injuring his knee during a training game with the Reds.
He was meant to be sitting out contact situations so Connolly is demanding a report from the Reds over what happened.
Jones says he never knew of any protected players and it was a freak accident and nothing could be done.
Latham himself is staying upbeat about the injury, and is confident he will be right for Australia's tilt at the World Cup in September..
He says like everything in his career, he has found a positive - his body will be well rested when he returns.
Chris Latham says he has just come off two of his best seasons and now come World Cup time, his body will be in prime condition.
