Anyone notice his omission from the Gt Britain squad? Good to see that it's not just Chris Anderson who can pick second-rate halves for international matches!!!!

In all honesty he wouldn't have played ahead of Sean Long - he was picked in the original squad alongside Paul Deacon who filled in when Long was injured so it makes more sense.

It will hopefully allow him to get out here and have a full off season training.

Im surprised to tell you the truth!!

Thorman was Man of the Match in there SOO equivalent.....shouldn't this count for anything??

Long isn't the player he once was & Deacon is only average!!

Thorman IMO would have brought alot more to the British game then both combined!!

Shocking decision!!

True that may be but he only played the one game in the semi-finals whereas Deacon and Long both played in the GF if I remember rightly?

It was surprising to me especially without Cunningham they only have one other specialist hooker.

That didn't stop Anderson picking Kimmorley, whose side was atrocious for 9/10ths of the season.

and providing 9 played the game it would have given us all a chance to see what he plays like.

Colonel Eel said:
Thats Anderson however - Waite actually picks on form....

Not always entirely true!....Waite selections remind me abit of Brian Smiths selections.......players out of position, good form doesn't necasarily mean you get selected, personal favourites!!

Heres the British squad chosen

Paul Anderson (Bradford Bulls)
Brian Carney (Wigan Warriors)
Gary Connolly (Leeds Rhinos)
Paul Deacon (Bradford Bulls)
Gareth Ellis (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats)
Andrew Farrell (Wigan Warriors)
Stuart Fielden (Bradford Bulls)
Mike Forshaw (Bradford Bulls)
Lee Gilmour (Bradford Bulls)
David Hodgson (Wigan Warriors)
Richard Horne (Hull FC)
Ryan Hudson (Castleford Tigers)
Sean Long (St Helens)
Barrie McDermott (Leeds Rhinos)
Adrian Morley (Sydney Roosters)
Terry Newton (Wigan Warriors)
Jamie Peacock (Bradford Bulls)
Kris Radlinski (Wigan Warriors)
Paul Sculthorpe (St Helens)
Keith Senior (Leeds Rhinos)
Kevin Sinfield (Leeds Rhinos)
Paul Wood (Warrington Wolves)

The inclusion of Lee Gilmour is a shocker!!.....he can't even crack a spot in the Bradford side behind Vaikona & Vanikolo...but he still included :? :?

Paul Anderson??...10 minute Paul has never posed a threat to the Aussies...and dare i say never will!!

Mike Forshaw... :? :?

Andy Farrel??.....never been a success at international level & never will....as far as im concerned his chance has come & gone!!

In saying this, David Waite has made some good selections in regrads to youngsters egPaul Wood, Gareth Ellis, Ryan Hudson & to a lesser degree Brian Carney!.....these players all have quality about them & will rise to the more competitive challenge

Sean Long??....Not the player he once was but??....i doubt he will start over Paul Deacon who IMO is extremely average!!

Yeah when London played Saints in the semi's Sean Long played alot better than Thorman and has a lot more experience. But Thorman will only improve where as Long has passed his peak.
