Since arriving in Australia, i have adopted the Eels as my team mainly because of the Jim Dymock connection and also that its close to where I reside. I missed this when he originally signed, so im just wondering what you guys thought of the Eels signing Thorman at the time and what you think now. Do you think he will play NRL this season?

What do you Eels fans think of this guy?
Do you reckon he will get a run in first grade this season?

Seeing as the ESL players like Morley tend to take time to adjust I think Smith wants him to adjust in first division. Coming from a competition that had Steele Retchless, Michael Korkidas, Gavin Clinch and Semi Tadulala making regular appearances in the top grade when they couldn't get a start in Australia is proof enough that its a big gap to step up. Morley took 12 months to adjust and he was playing in the back row.

He'll play first grade before the end of the season......

There was some excitement when it was announced that we'd signed him although many people knew little or nothing about him other than that he'd won the MOM in the English equivalent of State of Origin. By all reports he's been playing very well in the Premier League competition but I would suspect the club won't be rushing him into first grade unless it's absolutely necessary due to injuries or drammatic drop in form from the guys currently in firsts. I think we'll see him pop up in first grade during the second half of the season, probably off the bench, and we'll see how he goes from there I guess...

Not much else to be said that hasn't already been.

Last week v Manly was Thorman's worst performance of the year that I've seen (I did miss the game v Dragons and was told that was a shocker) but overall he has been close to the best player in reserve grade this year. His versitility should get him at least a bench spot by years end.

Reports I've seen suggest he can play halfback, five-eighth, hooker, centre and fullback, not sure if this is true however if it is then the #14 jersey is 1st grade should be his by round 26.
