There has been an incident involving Chris Walker in Brisbane during last night's QLD State of Origin Camp, reported through the media.

The Sydney Roosters acknowledge these statements and both the Roosters and Chris will be making an official statement on this matter later today.

Anyone know what's going on???

All i can say is grat work from the roosters managment to act swiftly on this incident and punish walker for what he did, and he is payiing dearly !!!

Drop from the QLD squad
Droped from this weeks roosters side
fined 10% of annual salary to go to charity
Alcohol ban placed on him for the rest of the season
counselling sessions.

Plus the public humiliation and the police charges. Walker is paying big time for what he did !

Like i said, the roosters have handled this situation with grat professionalisim and this will be something that Walker will learn from, cause he knows he will not get off lightly if this happens again !

Statement Regarding Chris Walker

Author: Sydney Roosters
Monday, 3 May 2004

The Sydney Roosters are deeply disturbed by the assault allegations and the subsequent charges laid against its player Chris Walker while in the QLD State of Origin camp.

The club has considered the matter and takes immediate action as we did not wish to procrastinate. The following penalties will be imposed:

1. Already Chris has been stood down from the QLD team for the first State of Origin game;

2. He will be stood down by the Roosters for next Saturday’s game against the West Tigers;

3. Chris will be fined 10% of his 2004 annual salary which will be donated to the Randwick Children’s Hospital;

4. A full alcohol ban will be imposed on Chris for the 2004 season;

5. Chris will undertake counseling for the issues that led to these charges.

The Sydney Roosters take the reputation of the club and the game of rugby league seriously, and believe these penalties identify our strong position.

Give Walkout a break. He was just out having a beer, and trying to be a bit of a bloke. You goosters should get behind your player instead of bagging him. He's not a bad footballer. I'd stick him on the bench for the mighty pamffers if I could.

Were not bagging him mate, he did wrong and has paid for it, he has stood up and recieved what was coming to him, he took it like a man.

You can't bagg him for that!
