Really? He was still under contract to the Tigers for 2004. Must say if it is true I ain't overly cut - he wasn't the best young Front Rower I've ever seen, but still it's a big surprise - even to the guys at Western Suburbs. They gave no indication, so I'd say Tim has decided he's surplus to requirements.

Is this Clint Hill from the Dragons???

If it is I wouldn't be too upset about losing him...I wasn't, wasn't bad at Saints but nothing exceptional, I hope he has improved though, always good to see ex-Saints succeed.

clint played one game for the tiges in top grade.. didn't show much.. but didn't look to bad..
no big loss but seeing as front row is the wests tigers biggest weakness next year through lack of depth it makes you think why they'd get rid of a young guy like that..

I asked about this one. The Maggies were quite happy to hang onto Hilly, but Tim didn't want him so he was released from the last year of his contract. And yet Tim wanted to hang onto Hollywood...

...makes you spit Snidey? BTW nice to see you.

Cheers mate!

Just so you know - by "Wests" I wasn't blaming the maggies - but the JV as a whole!!!

Why have props been relegated to dead-last as a recruitment/retention priority by this club - it defies logic??!!??

And - do you know what position Wests PL have Tere Glassies slated in for next year (as you and I know - in 2003 he trialled as a centre - evolved to a stop-gap prop - despite being a natural back-rower)????

Tell me about it champ. I was saying since about round 10 that Penrith were the competitions real dark horse simply because of their magnificent front row depth and size. Geez I wish I was a betting man. You don't have a big mobile set of front rowers - you got nuthin. Yet Sheens buys wingers, fullbacks, and back rowers    He then releases his young props, and the one prop he does buy breaks down    .

What is he going to use Boof as a Prop? Give me a break. Better still give give me Lang, Clinton, Waterhouse and Ross. The idea of a Penrith Magpies that someone mentioned in another post don't seem so bad.

Can you honestly say that Laffranchi in the front row has been BAD for us? The guy has been a revelation, and I for one wont be sorry if he stays in the front row.

Lochie my friend sometimes the good is the enemy of success.

No I'm not saying Boof is Bad. BUT he will never, ever, ever, ever be a GREAT Front Rower. He does a good job, but to be a premiership winning team you need your players (and your Props especially) to do a GREAT job. Sometimes when things are going good you fool yourself and don't make the changes you need to to become the best you can.

Boof may become a GREAT back rower, but will never be more than a good Front Rower. Therefore back row is where he should play, and Sheens should be looking to develop and/or recruit the next group of Great Props, not waste a potentially great back rower up front.

Do you see a Joel Clinton anywhere in the Wests Tigers organisation? I don't.

I am totally with Yappy - the fact that a bloke like Boof excels in a stop-gap role - playing out of position is testament to his character - toughness and ability - but it does not make him a true prop!

All the respect in the world goes to Boof for what he achieved last season - but he is not able to play to his strengths and in using him out of position we also offset the vast value he has the potential to provide in the no. 11 or 12 (where he could actually be a truly dominant and intimidating force)!!
