Coaches have no impact during game day

Just saw on The Fan the coaches admit that they have basically no impact during game day, things like half time speech and communication through blue shirts have basically no impact.
It is a pretty big admission that they add no $$ value to the game and actually probably have a negative $$ value impact to the game (wrestling and other cheat tactics they bring).
If they are not able to impact what happens on the day once players cross the line why do they all sit in a box where only TV can see them? Get down on the side line and try to add some game day $$ value for the people who have bothered to get off the couch and get to the game...like Ricky Stuart does.
The crowd should be able to vent towards the coach when their team is playing badly.

So.... Make all coaches redundant?

Yeah, go back to captain coaches.
The game would be way better because it would not be so over analysed/coached and players would be able to get more money.

Or alternatively make the coaches earn the money they sponge out of the game such as by sitting on the side line and giving better post match interviews.

They showed a clip last night where bill harrigan sent Gould from the sidelines in about 94, Gould was swearing at him and the touchie, bill then stopped the game and said “if you are going to sit there swearing at us, then you can go sit with the fans and do it from the stands like they are, GO.

Classic.

Thats what you get in American Football and other American sport (especially baseball). It is very entertaining.

Seriously, what would happen if NRL coaches went on strike for a year?
I would argue the spectacle on the field would improve and more spectators would tune in so their would be more money in the game.

You're all over the shop. More coaches on the sideline, like Rick - captain/coaches (does that mean the captain sits on the sidelines?) - all coaches are just Bellamy and apparently all coaches are a disaster for the game - coaches should go on strike.... pull yourself together, maybe by your bootstraps, you've lost the plot.

It is all consistent to the point I am making, which is coaches add no value, which they have just admited themselves. I am also offering some practical solutions like make them sit on the side line and carry on like pork chops so they get the crowd involved a bit.
