Anyone else a fan of this show? I've only seen the past two episodes, but in both shows I've not only been intrigued by the story, but (as cheesy as it sounds) touched by it as well. Too many crime shows these days (even Law and Order, which I love) focus too closely on the crime, and not enough on the victim. I really like the way the show lets us see the victim, and focuses just as much on their own life as it does on the denument.
Last week's episode (about the track star who was murdered) was really sad, and the music set the scene quite well. You can't go wrong with a song like 'Keep on Lovin' You' by REO Speedwagon. It definitely has a newfound sad attachment for me now.
Tonight's episode was great, although the musical use wasn't as good. Really interesting to tackle not only a very different era, but also a different culture (that of the homosexual community in the 60s). Just as sad as last week's, especially when the Danny's mother finally met the man he'd loved.
Ok, I've waxed lyrical enough. It's just so rare that something on television can consistently draw an emotional reaction.
