I know this is an oft discussed topic, but I’m just about done with the bullshit we are exposed to every week.

People say watch fox to get away from Phil, ray hordleyyyyy etc. but it’s hardly much better when you have to put up with stooges like Hodges and Roach and their inane ramblings

I’d love to see some new talent that aren’t part of the boys club. Any chance LU starts running live amateur calling as an alternative to listening to the f**ks at ch9 and fox?

Why can’t we have more professional commentators? Seems like everyone is an ex player who has taken way too many head shots

New people to the game would tune in and think what the f**k is going on. The cliches are mind numbing in the extreme - game of two halves, boys put in, forwards went forward....f**k me.

Do we not deserve better than that or is it channel Nein and fox just catering to the lowest common denominator? Sure we have a lot of knucklehead fans but the gimps behind the mic just reinforce the bogan image and don’t help us find new fans

It’s like they purposely sought out the most hated players to fill these spots.
Even Ennis, I don’t mind Ennis, but he was one of the most disliked players getting around while he played.

I agree for every ex player there should be an actual intelligent commentator or someone with some personality. Get some comedians on. Roy, HG, Denton, Craig McLaughlin, Russell Crowe, Molly, Andrew Symonds. I cant think of any women that would be any good but there must be some. Get Pauline Hanson on for state of origin.

I’ve never understood why Australian coverage is obsessed with ex players commenting. Other countries don’t do it nearly as often. There should be a genuine career path for a sports sideline eye etc, not just some washed up player or news ltd hack.

The real incredible thing for mine is that Gasnier is actually alright to listen to. You can tell he genuinely has a love for the game which is miles better than listening to Roach and his rambling or Gould and his cynicism and whinging.
