community sub forums

there is a possibility that in the future the owners of LU may consider the use of sub forums

for example under the sharks forum could be
- a rumour mill
- a shark social forum
- a forum 7's issues forum

i am for this structure but am aware that others are not keen on the idea due to segregation issues

there for i am seeking input from this sharks community - wether they are for it against it or whatever

note even if the majority are for it does not mean it will be automatic just that more consideration will be given to the idea

I don't want to scare people off the idea but I have to say I'm against it. It'd be impossible to have good debate like we have in 4 Courners currently, for example.

I like the idea, even if it means we just have the place split into Cronulla topics and social topics. It'd encourage a bit of interesting discussion along the lines of the old social bar, without having to force a mass transplant of everyone over to the Firkin Fun Bar.

Sub Forums for me. Will make it more like home.

the technical staff have had a look at the hack required to do this and it is considered quite dangerous in terms of the merge posts functions etc

That would be an unvalidated (not passed for use with php by the php developers) hack which looks to be in alpha version. Not worth the trouble in other words.

It's also not necessary for the making of subforums.

But be buggered if I'm gonna tell 'em how to do it.

Don't know what you've heard but no one at LU is asking Frenzy for his expertise.

SS it was just a questions that i put to frenzy - i was not working on behalf of LU

and in fact i am dissappointed with frenzys opportunism to get a boot in when i was asking him a question

will avoid such traps in future

Its not the sort of thing which is relevant to a footy discussion but you brought it up - and I suppose the title of this thread lends itself to Admin talk.

But sorry mate, you seem to have only half the story there.
Personality clashes are a fact of life, but they only become petty when someone takes it personally... which I didn't. Life's too short to worry about that sort of crap.
He didn't get banned either but I think you know that.
