Personally, I'd consider Blake Green to be a good mentor for younger halves, he was a large part of the reason Wigan felt comfortable giving George Williams the 6 shirt in 2015. We're currently in a similar situation with Jackson Hastings looking like returning to the NRL at the end of season and Harry Smith probably taking the 7 shirt for next season.

Do the Bulldogs have any promising young halves coming up who they think are about a season away from getting a starting shirt?

Averillo. Whether he plays centre, 5/8th or Fullback is the debate. He is getting game time at the moment. Maybe they want to push it for another year and get someone to teach him the nuisances of first grade.

Be nicer once Barrett is here and can hopefully attract some talent to the team. Just too quiet to go into next year with virtually the same squad meaning a very long season again for supporters.

Always happy to see club men stay with their club. Exciting backline for 2021 potentially:

1. Joseph Suaalii
2. Alex Johnston
3. Campbell Graham
4. Latrell Mitchell
5. Dane Gagai

That doesn't include James Roberts, Braidon Burns, Corey Allan, Jaxson Paulo, Steven Marsters, etc. A few will move on you'd think.

Doesn't Latrell get bored in the Centres? Seriously can't see Suaalii playing fullback from the get go. More than likely they would play him at Centre or Wing. Would have to expect Roberts would be most likely to depart, given he would not be dirt cheap and would expect to find a first grade spot elsewhere. After that possibly Burns due to being injury prone and Allan might depart.

Worst kept secret now official

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of forward James Tamou for the coming two seasons.

The two-year deal will see Tamou join Wests Tigers ahead of the 2021 NRL season and will remain with the club until the end of the 2022 season.

A Premiership-winner with North Queensland in 2015, the 31-year-old Tamou will join the club with a wealth of experience following his time at the Cowboys and Panthers, with the powerful prop currently boasting a 263-game career so far.
