It wasnt at all confirmed, it was "mail" from Dobbo on NRL360 that Bird had talks with the Raiders during orign 2 and that "a couple more board members had to sign off on it and once that happened, Bird would be a Raider for next year".

So....yeah....a rumour.

Don't rate Shillo anymore, not really happy with this signing tbh.

The Titans should have tried to retain Nate Miles.

Shillo is a replacement but no where near as good.....

Anyway good luck for the future DCE has really stuffed you guy's around, it may take a year or 2 to rebuild, but it is possible.

Shillo has had a MUCH better year than Myles. Probably been better than him the last few years too.

I haven't seen very Canberra game, but from what I have seen Shillo is about the same as previous years, and Myles in about the same as previous years.

Hence Myles is significantly better than Shillo.

Myles is also playing SOO for QLD, and is probably one of the first forwards QLD pick.

I've liked Shillo for us, but the reality is for the last few seasons he's only gone hard when he was after a new contract or an origin jersey.

Could go either way for the Titans, I'm not gutted to lose him.

Myles plays much better in Origin than he does for the Titans.
On club form, I wouldn't say he is significantly better.

Agree with you on Myles club form. Most in SOO he plays well and comes back and plays below his origin standard. Shillo will be a good solid for us.

I lifted this from the Titans forum (acknowledgements to NYCDB). I'm ok with this change of personnel.

"For the last few seasons Shillington has averaged more metres, missed less tackles, broken more tackles and made less errors than Myles and apart from this season, theyve played a similar amount of games for the last few seasons. Just because your average fan might think its bad signing doesnt make it so."

Fun fact, Myles and Shillo shared the same birthday yesterday.

So the Titans decided to sign someone exactly two years older.

Good job.

Myles is leaving having done all he could for us. Shillington brings a wealth of experience to what will be a young pack and sometimes change is good for it's own sake. So yeh, you're right...good job.

I'm a little concerned about our prop rotation for next year tbh.

-Vaughan
-Nu'uasala
-Boyd
-Nicholls
-O'Donnell
-Papalli (if converted to a prop)
-Page (if re-signed)
-Lynch (if re-signed)

I also think Stick probably has another signing up his sleeve. He knows we're short a prop as evidenced by the attempt to lure Warea-Hargreaves down earlier this year, and then Tamou - who I think we're still a chance at.

Having said that if we get Bird and he converts Papa to a prop full-time, clubs have won premiership with far worse packs.

Papalii isnt a prop, he's a back rower, his move to the front row was a disaster
Vaughan and Boyd are the only options on that list who have proven themselves as NRL players worth feeding.

agreed about another signing up his sleeve though

Dragons Sign Mose Masoe

A A

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today announced that Mose Masoe has agreed to terms on a two-year contract that will see him join the Club from next season until at least the end of 2017.

The Samoa international prop, who has been capped seven times, is presently contracted to Super League team St Helens and was part of their Premiership-winning team last season. Masoe, 26, made his first-grade debut for the Sydney Roosters during the 2010 campaign before joining the Penrith Panthers (2013) and St Helens (2014).

“Mose will be a welcome addition to the Club as he is able to provide both the additional size and go-forward which is vital in all strong forward-packs,” said Dragons Director of Recruitment & Retention Peter Mulholland.
“He is presently playing his trade in the traditionally-physical Super League competition and is a key player for the strong St Helens club. “We look forward to welcoming him to the Club during the off-season.”

The Randwick Kingfishers junior has played 108 first-grade games to date (NRL & Super League) and will join the Dragons in November.
