I reckon Lovett could make a good centre. Big, strong with fast feet he would be sound defensively.

Wouldn't the shortness be because the salary cap should rise significantly by then?
Most likely.

Pretty much everyone we've re-signed this year was until 2017.

There's definitely a strategy behind it.

Possibly but Kahu has had massive injury problems and Glenn has had form issues the past few seasons so if they'd been signed for any longer I wouldn't have been too impressed.

Has any Bronco ever signed a deal longer than 3 years? 2 seems to be the norm for the Broncos withe odd 1 or 3 year deal thrown in.

Many of the more successful clubs in the salary cap era have tended to use shorter term contracts. Reason being if a player's form goes south in a big way, it is easier to cut them as you ensure a smaller payout if they are under contract.

Also it does not create problems if you have a player come up through the ranks who is younger, plays the same position, and is viewed as a better long term prospect. Thus when the older player comes off contract, you can then move the young gun in to succeed them.

It is often only the elite players who get longer term contracts, and then only up to a certain age. Players in their late 20s are often the ones who start getting shorter term contracts.

He will do a Hodges and comeback once he realizes the quick money isn't worth it.

Yeah he'll be homesick soon enough and no doubt desperate to play back up to Milf, Hunt, McCullogh and his big brother once more.

Matt White from the Titans to the Storm for 2016.

@travismeyn: Titans prop Matt White released to Melbourne for 2016. The clean out continues. #nrl

Roosters fans will claim hes a Roosters junior in 2 years

How many NRL games has he played . . . enough to disqualify him from being claimed a future Roosters one club player

TBH I always thought we would struggle to keep both Taylor and J Nikorima. Their pathway to the top is blocked by some very talented and young players. Jayden has some serious talent, which is reflected in the Roosters willing to shell out 200k a season without him playing first grade. He will no doubt fill the same roll for the Roosters that his brother is filling for the Broncos. It's a shame we lost him, but I can't say that I blame him or that I think the Roosters over paid to land him. Jayden is an x factor and he will win the Roosters plenty of games. Good luck to him.
