congratulations to those mighty tigers flegg and premier league sides on reaching the semis. I think jamie nowland is a stand out 4 flegg player of the year and either jamie small or andrew henderson for pl player of the year. Any chance of Pangai coming back this week or next 4 our flegg side

Congrats to the boys and Congrats should go to the Wests Boys as well for not giving up and playing some great footy towards the end of the year!

There was talk about Pangai coming back for the last week before the finals so he is a chance and I hope he is back because I really don't want Chapman playing even off the bench for us!!!!

Player of the year is a hard one, Nowland has been great and to be honest probably the surprise packet of the year by being moved into halfback and he appears to have handled the step up and dosn't look out of place in PL either.

He should be the front runner for the award but I wouldn't be surprised if either Kmet of Harper get the award either.

PL player of the year will go to Hendo I think especially since he has moved into Hooker (thank god they finally listened to Mooney ;-)), but you can't go leave out players like Greally, Small and Heighno who have all been standouts for us this year as well.

Up and commer will be Pangai and then dust miles behind him!!!!

Also everyone should get out in full force out to Leichhardt Oval to see the JF boys run around against the Sharks at 4pm on Saturday ;-)

Yapster, i will understand if you start supporting us as you don't have anything to do for the next few week
Thanks for your concern, but now I can stop wasting time and get my head into my studies.

Also I got a micro brewery for Fathers Day :D and let's face it watching sugars ferment into a 20 litre batch of Mr Tooheys finest black ale has got to be more exciting than watching the Tigers.

Yeah, all the boys have played well in both grades, glad to see PL hold thier spot cuz its been a very tough second half of the season. Player of the year for PL would, Hendo, barely ahead of Greally and Heighington.

For flegg, had a great run in the middle of the season which has set them up great. Nowland's been great as has Harper and who can forget Dickson too.Alberts too is another who's had a great year.

Alberts in attack has been great but he does go bloody missing in defence

Dicko is great but they only played him for about 40mins a game in JF and then another 40 or so in PL so they where trying to get him spreading through both grades.

Harper well eveyone knows the raps I have on this bloke and this is why

Stats for the regular season

Position - Prop
Average Minutes per game - 63
Average Hitups per game - 21.13
Average Tackles per game - 28.36
Average Offloads per game - 2.64
Line Breaks - 8
Tries - 7

For a prop those are bloody good stats especially for a 18yr old ;-)

yeah mick would probably be my pick for player of the year in flegg - he's been the most consistant all year, (jaime comes very close but had a pretty poor first half of the season)

really though you could put up a pretty good argument for why it could go to almost member of the team - this is I think the most talented junior team I've ever seen Balmain put on the paddock

Suggestion from left field for Flegg player of the year - Ranald Schultz.

He's managed to relegate last year's in-form hooker Luke Waihape to the bench for the whole season - huge achievement considering Luke played the majority of the rest of last season post Flegg for Ryde Eastwood as their starting hooker!

He also played a few games for PL before they switched Hendo to the hooking spot and while he didn't set the world on fire when up there, he showed he had a lot of things to like about his game.

He also does a lot of little things that go unnoticed and I'll never forget him running down an opposition player at Leichhardt (opposing team won't come to mind at the moment) from a chargedown & preventing a try through a penalty for a double movement! In that game it was practicallly the turning point of the match.

The PL player has to be Jamie Small. I don't think I've seen him turn in a sub-standard performance all year & how he didn't get a run with WT has got me baffled! If Hendo gets it he will fully deserve it, but I think he'll just lose out narrowly to Smally.

Totally agree with you Brook about the talent running around for Flegg - the things I've seen them do this year have blown me away at times. The recent results of the Roosters puts their 22-10 loss a few weeks ago in complete perspective and seeing them score 3 tries in 9 minutes on Saturday was very Roosteresque!

PL Player of the year will be between (IMO)

Small, Heighno, Hendo and Branighan

JF Player of the year will be between (IMO)

Harper, Nowland, Kmet and Alberts

I would of said Dicko but he has been playing a fair bit in PL and only playing half JF games towards the end of the season to accomodate PL.

If only they had turned up to play the other 70 minutes of the game!!

honestly if the game was 30 seconds linger I think we would have won it - lets just hope they use it as a wake-up call to play the ENTIRE game next week. If we DO play like that for a full 80 minutes I think we could beat anyone, even the roosters.

and I think Jaime should get PL player of the year hands down - once again he's been by far our most consistant over the course of the year, in fact its the third year in a row I think he's been our best player...and yet still no first grade spot :(

Just looking at the JF draw and results and Balmain actually do have the best record against the Roosters inregards to 2 games and the difference at the end of the game so we could beat them but we have to get past the slime this week and that will be a tough ask!

Also Dicko might of done his ankle and Harper apperantly has a shoulder injury, add Franco's knee to the mix and we really seem to be having the worst possible injury toll at the wrong end of the season and 3 of our best could be missing

Sorry but the choice is obvious:
PL - Jamie Small - stand out week in, week out.
Flegg - Jamie Nowland - without him they dont fire.
