the bulldogs contain a player who is a CONVICTED criminal (before anyone edits this, there is no slander, innuendo or unfounded accusation here, reni matua was convicted in a court of law, although given a ridiculous slap on the wrist), yet knowing this full well and further knowing all the rumours and innuendo surrounding the "holiday destination proclivities" of the dogs, people still arent able to open their hearts to the prospect of a roosters victory!

This grand final is like a match between hell and nazi germany....i wish it was possible for both teams to lose!

personally, i'm going to have to reluctantly hope for the evil dictatorship to prevail....it would be the reign from hell if the dogs won....

Wasn't he found not guilty? Someone in the group he was with assaulted the cop, but who it was remains up in the air. Rene claims it wasn't him and he left before it took place.

He wasnt found guilty of the assault, however he was proved to be with the group and considered one of the key people involved in the assault

(what key people means I dont know, but thats what was reported)

he received a fine...which follows from his conviction on an offennce emanating from the assault of a cop....he was only reprieved of a custodial sentence due to the unfathomable and unjustifiable generousity of the magistrate!

Fair dinkum. He's been through the court system and has receieved the sentence. Doesn't mean he should be prevented from or scorned in playing league as well.

I'm not a doggies nor roosters fan, but have a look at yourself - any parking tickets or speeding tickets mate? Any things you regret in your life that didn't earn you jail sentences either?
