a 30 can box of coke, griffin loved his coke.
I noticed that Shane had a big swallow of his can of coke during the game against the Bulldogs. At least the can was red and white and he wasn't chewing gum like Benji Marshall was doing watching nervously as his triple wooden spooners Tigers beat the expected 2025 wooden spooners Titans.

How good is it following the joint venture clubs. So much fun and enjoyment and glee.

Great post it's such a shame widdop suffered the injuries he did i think 18,19,20 would have been a lot different if he stayed healthy most underrated player at the dragons since hornby who should have played many more rep games spilt milk now though but he carried that team in 18 we don't have anywhere near the standard of players as we had then i think if we can get a few top range players and hopefully some more of the youngsters coming thru are as good as the ones blooded this year flanagan will go alright hoping
Agree with you UDGE.

There is one glaring difference no one has touched on when comparing Flanno to Hook. One thing even more important than win loss ratios. That is how the players feel under his tutelage. Hook was so incompetent in that regard, he couldnt or wouldnt even have one on one chats with some players explaining his decisions. Such as his demotion of Lomax....that is pretty poor form for a head coach. The guy was a total flop when it came to man management, interviews with media etc. I daresay just about the whole team now have a lot more respect for Flanno than they ever did for Hook.

He told the captain and players player of the year Cam McInnes your free to go before the season started and replaced him with McCullough. What message does that send to the playing group.
As bad as Dufty's defense was he was our best attacking weapon and he gets rid of him with no replacement lined up. Lomax was terrible under Hook.
Josh Kerr was getting picked in rep teams but for some reason Hook wouldn't play him.

I'm 79 year s old, old have been on this site for about 10 years.
I was able to watch every grand final from 56 to 66.
I have now watched the e worst administration of this club for the last 15 years, and sadly seen the club sink to the lowest depths in its' history.
The selection of coaches during this period, has been so poor that not one of them ha s ever been offered a contract for another NRL club since their tenure here. The only one who seemed to be worth his money won a state cup, but was white anted and left to go to Souths.
This brings me to the past 2 season where thankfully there has been slow but gradual improvement.
I read on here about the dislike of Tyrell Sloan. He has come up through the ranks where, to my eye all he has had to do is run like
Offiah and score tries. So his defence is poor, but to blame him for the last try loss last weekend was wrong.
Saints were outnumbered 4 to 3. Sloan, Suli and Flanagan.and Kikau coming back inside. So really 5 to 3. Sloan ran up and hit the
centre while both Suli and Flanagan backed ott Galvin and tackled nobody.
To finish, we have beaten Melbourne, taken Canberra and Caterbury to the wire, which makes me think how
many of our side would make any of those teams.
Nice Post. I am 71 years old and have been a member of this forum for about the same period as you.

I'd say the worst thing our club has done was to bo be bullied by the NRL to have Illawarra join with us. Maye club management thought Illawarra and WIN would lif the club a few rungs up the ladder, but as it turns our they have been a great weight on our shoulders and held us back.

My view is that we won't reverse the trend until we finally find a way to rid the club of WIN Corp. Most fans would think the partnership is good given the wealth of WIN.

Unfortunately, it appears that we are just a tax deduction, and WIN has no intention of investing the badly needed funds.

Yeh, but he wanted a 4 year deal and Saints offered 3. Cronulla gave him 4. I like that Saints generally don’t offer 4 year contracts. I personally agree with that philosophy

Losing by 30 or losing by 1 results in the same amount of competition points.

We haven't won 3 consecutive games since 2022 I'm sorry I don't see the improvement. If we can capitalise and win more closer games when the game is in the balance as well as having more than a 2 game winning streak then I'll say yes we have improved I really think next year is Flanno's last chance though it took him about 3 seasons until the Sharks came good so I think it's only fair he gets the same time frame here. I understand not every coach can turn a club around in 1 season think Sheen's in his first Tigers run Hasler in his first run at Manly Ricky Stuart at Canberra & Cronulla Walters at Brisbane etc etc
