Can i please ask - in case i missed a thread explaining this somewhere along the way.

What is the contract status of players like:

Jeff Robson
Kevin Kingston




Any one have any inside knowledge here?
I don't want to change much for next year, i think this team is a bunch of no name, heads down, hard workers - complimented by the brilliance of guys like Morts and Haynzey..
IMO - this is how teams stay successful, that mixture of confidence, flashyness and calm levelheadedness.

Would consider it BRILLIANT news if we were going to hang onto these two players in particular for just a little while longer...

jess i spoke to robbo a week or so ago n he said he had been made an offer n is more then likely gona accept the offer to stay..loves the club.
i used to play junior footy agaisnt him in group 20..

I thought the intention was for Ant Mitchell to step up next year

on espn's sportcenter this morning it said robson had secured his future with the club for next season but didn't go into any detail just a quick interview with him explaining how he was planning on hanging up his boots midway through thear getting a good job and playing park footy

Kinga has been great for us next year but we have guys like KK and Mitchell that can fill his role, glad to hear Robbo has re-signed his defence on Sunday was amazing.

Agree that K Keating will be first choice halfback, Robson the ideal back-up if needed, just like this year. But at the moment the team and structure is functioning well and you wouldn't change a thing.

The rose coloured glasses being applied to Tim Smith's past career won't get him near first grade next year either with us or another club, just my opinion.

2. Burt 5.Grothe (or Reddy for 2,5)
3. INU 4.Tahu
6. Mortz 7. Robson
8. Caylo 10.Poore
9. MK
11.Hindy 12.Smith
13.Mateo

14. KK
15. FFMM
16. Shack
17. Mannah

18. Reddy 19. Mitchell 20. Humble

I think KK will be the 14 again and Reddy, Burt or Grothe to rotate. (Or maybe for the 1st 10 rounds, these 3 and INU will rotate with a different player missing out each game).

Mitchell, Humble will come into it when injuries occur.

That's the team I think DA will go with.


Who do you guys think are worthwhile backrow support? Wellar?

For mine, it would be the same except that Caylo to bench FFMM to start.

while we're on fire Jess, do you have any knowledge on Todd's status???

Wenty really missed someone like Robson this year, to be honest that was why he was signed to bring stability to the halves and help the younger players.

By the way he is one of a number of players that was promised the world when he left previously , then given an atlas, ummmm Maloney, Hodgkinson, Green , Afamasanga,Nathan Armit etc etc.

Kevin Kingston is a handy player , but Ant Mitchell is a likely game breaker if he continues to develop, think we have the making of a first grader there. By the way , there are still a number of NRL players being offered at base contracts to the club, guess DA is sorting through them and will make a decision once we are finished. Hopefully after the October long weekend
