Raratonga is really interesting f in that the small island is split into historic tribal regions. Each region has a RL club representing it. It creates quiet a rivallary for such a tiny place! Beautiful place if you ever get chance to visit and they love their league

Agree, there are also other teams on the outer Islands too I.e Raro is just one Island in the Cooks. You can buy local RL gear at the markets and stores. The CI RL also have a shop set up at the markets, selling gear and they’re always keen to talk footy. FIFA continues to pump in money to soccer that RL cannot Compete with .

The Aitutaki Sharks are the only club outside the main island of Rarotonga, 6 times a year they make the 50 minute trip across by air. Amazing that a small club can raise the money for such a journey. Aitutaki is the second island of the Cooks with a population under 2000.

Each year the clubs get new gear alot of the jerseys are really good designs.

There are 3 city clubs (Bears, Eels and Panthers) and 3 country clubs (Sea Eagles, Warriors and Bears).
Each club having their own home ground with all finals played at the main International stadium.

Arorangi Bears - Raemaru Park

Tupapa Panthers - Victoria Park

Avatiu Eels - The Swamp

Aitutaki Sharks - Takapora Stadium

Takuvaine Warriors - Happy Valley

Ngatangiia Sea Eagles - Nukupure Park

Titikaveka Bulldogs - Temurimotea Park

The competition has just received naming sponsorship from Raro Cars who are owned by the grandson of the man who started Carlaw Park in Auckland.
