Cooper Cronk signs for four more years

MELBOURNE Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has signed a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of 2013.
The club has called a press conference for 11am to announce the deal, which is believed to be worth $1 million.

Cronk's contract was due to run out at the end of 2009, but Storm acted to ensure other NRL clubs could not poach him.

He'll be 30 by the time that contract finishes meaning he'll be at his pinnacle during that time and only getting $250,000 for someone who's played for Australia and potential to play for QLD is not right.

It's not his fault but Cronk is a great example of the robotic players that league is currently producing especially when you think of players like Sterling, Mortimer, Ricky Stuart, Langer, Johns etc.

yes Cooper is a great player, and deserves upward of 350k but i say well done to the storm and i guess Coopers manager for signing for only 250k..
There are some players who are getting over paid. i.e. Israel Folau.

This kid, who is only 20, is being contracted to the broncos for 400k p.a.
While he is a superb talent, he's only been in the game for 18mths and already hes one of the highest paid..

Now lets think about this... Firstly, Israel is a mormon. He could take his 2 yrs off to do his mormonship (however it works) at any time..

Cooper Cronk is as loyal as it comes to the Storm, players now days know what they are worth and cooper has obviously made a salary sacrafice to secure the likes of smith,slater,inglis,hoffman..
