Cornish vs Williams

Solid game from Sam Williams against Manly. I thought his kicking game was great. I didn't see the Roosters game at all, was Cornish that bad?

Who do you want to see at halfback?

I think Cornish was scapegoated last week. No, he wasn't great but our forwards stank up the joint and our halves didn't have a chance in hell of putting anything on.

With that said, Williams looked a lot better than Cornish has and took a lot of pressure off Blake Austin who was outstanding. Manly were deplorable though and will be interesting to see how Williams goes against the Storm.

Williams was horrible on Sunday. I'm sick of him already, drop him.

No point dropping him
Cornish V Williams is completely irrelevant now.

Sezer is our future halfback. And neither of these guys will be anything but a 2nd string back up half now. Up to them now if they are willing to accept that role, or look to another club and try to carve out an NRL career.

It was hilarious how useless Williams was. I'll give him benefit of the doubt that he had an "off" game, but he better improve this week.

Did Mitch make some unsavoury comments about Ricky's missus at some point? Seems very reluctant to pick him, favouring duds like McCrone and Williams instead.

And skeepe: isn't that exactly what Stuart did to Cornish? Dumped him after one off game?

I'd prefer to give Cornish an extended run. Sure he wasn't great, but I do believe he'll eventually get there.
Williams can't even stand behind the dummy half. I've given up on him.

Williams is back at training and should be back next week at the lattest. Might be a suprise inclusion this week. He'll make a good back up half for Austin/Sezer

My only hope for Cornish now is that he lands with a club and a coach who believes in him and gives him the time and confidence he needs to make a go of his career

Cornish blows. Not a first grade quality half. Williams is by no means perfect, but he has improved immensely this year IMO.

Cornish has played minutes that equate to about 10 f**king games at NRL level. Do you even remember how rubbish Sam Williams was at that point of his career?

Jesus wept.

Williams had a very good first season if I recall. Cornish hasn't shown much of anything so far. When he takes the line on he gets hammered. He's meh at best and awful at worst. He may mature into a fine player but he's not one I'm going to regret losing.

Lighten up mate.

Williams had a very good first game, but he was trash for most of his first 50 games. He couldnt beat out McCrone or Michael Witt for a starting spot ffs

It's just the revisionist history regarding players, and the way fans expect a rookie halfback to step into FG and instantly be a star is utterly ridiculous.
