Not an unbroken run, but on the whole for say the next decade? Purely speculative.
I ask because of two interrelated factors:
QLD over the last 18 years, mostly, has found players who can win the series. QLD players of today grew up seeing QLD dominance from their very early years. QLD can draw recently retired from Origin coaching staff from those dominant periods.
NSW over the last 18 years, mostly, has not found players who can win the series. NSW players of today grew up seeing QLD dominance from their very early years. NSW cannot draw recently retired from Origin coaching staff from a NSW dominant period.
NSW is in a lost generation type situation where a vacuum exists of winning NSW Origin role models for the new players that they can recall without referring to something other than memory. They also have a lost generation coaching dilemma. Anyone they bring through to coach Origin from the last 18 years of NSW Origin teams hasn't played in a solely NSW dominant era. They played in an era where NSW formerly had dominance but lost it. That includes players in Fittler's origin coaching era. No-one who has played in a Brad Fittler coached NSW Origin side has played in a NSW dominant era. Brad is 3 series wins 3 series losses.
It has to affect the subconcious dialogue, whatever the surface appearance presents, when your side has never dominated once in the last 18 years whilst your opposition has owned denying you that stance and know it.
