Even so, they are the North Queensland Cowboys, not the North Queensland Cattle Dogs.

Surely a Cowboy would be a more appropriate mascot.

I was always under the impression it was a Coyote. There old (and vastly superior) mascot was a canine of some sort too.

Cowboys are waaay to camp to be a mascot really...

The Cowboys have always had a cattle dog (called Bluey) as a mascot... they've never had a Cowboy as such, for some reason.

So at home games now they have the old mascot (Bluey the cattledog), along with this freak dog that the NRL created.. looks pretty ridiculous.

Not sure, but that looks like a new mascot that has appeared recently with a sponsorship by an IT or ISP mob called Rawnet. They're also naming sponsor of the Cairns Taipans in the NBL so it might be a push for regional branding up here. They're curently running a competition to name him (it?).

Either that or it's a very poor Japanese cartoon style Bluey.
