Has left you to join Wakefield in the esl. Is he any good? And is he an out & out winger or can he play elsewhere?

Craig Hall.....

Pros- Powerfully built runner of the ball, strong defender, great dummy half runner, dangerous close to the line, suprisingly fast, can play backrow if needed.

Cons- Terrible under the highball, poor lateral defense, injury prone, can go in his shell if rattled.

To be quite honest i never really rated him but there was a game against the broncos last year (the Kidley field goal game) where he had an absolute blinder, strong running saw him gain over 250 metres and he scored a couple of great tries.

He would be quite a handy player if he could find that kind of form for you.

When his good his great, doesnt mind the dirty metres from dummy half and is very tough and nuggetty, but like RBK said rattle him and looses all confidence.

Wasnt he in the airforce and only playing part time though?

He was a star here when he first hit the scene, he was only training part time because he was in the Air Force as a mechanic, and given that and his form at the time the Knights obviously thought he was worth signing and getting here fulltime, which he did. He hasn't really lived up to that early promise. He was supposedly the fastest player in the club last year (which I find hard to believe) I think he has put on a bit of weight since coming here and that has affected him agility wise. I think he will end up as a backrower, he is very strong for his build, and early on was not unlike Doogs, with the abilty to break tackles and make good metres. His form though as I said fell away, not sure if that was due to injury or his weight. As said his abilty under high balls is very poor, as are some areas of his defense.

Heres the news snippet.

NEWCASTLE Knights winger Craig Hall has signed for Super League club Wakefield on a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old made four appearances for the Knights in the National Rugby League this year before picking up a knee injury.

"We are very pleased to secure Craig's services for next season as we were facing competition from other Super League clubs for his signature," said coach Tony Smith.

"I am looking forward to working with him when he arrives in the UK in early December."

Hall is the Wildcats' fourth signing for 2006 following the capture of Monty Betham (New Zealand Warriors), Paul White (Huddersfield) and Jon Whittle (Widnes).

I've never like him either, but he can do a job when it is given to him. He is a player that you can basically rely on to be on the field doing the dummy half running to take pressure off the forwards. He is not the most talented of footballers but tries his heart out every game. He won't play flashy and put on fifty steps to get through the line but is a percentage footballer who plays very much on the safe side of things.

He is an alright player, will cart the ball up and always try his hardest, a player most teams would like to have imo, just has a great attitude.

Had clubs contending for him? And he only signed a 1 year deal, f**k you would have thought he would have been after atleast 2 if not 3 for a bit of security.

For a bloke they pulled out of Newcastles local league last year, he goes alright.
He actually came from the local comp a few years ago, not last year. Looked a world beater in his first year, but has really not gone on with it since.
