Ok, before you vote, please read my post. Everyone seems to have their own opinion about setting limits on attribute credit points in Create a Player (it even seems that Sidhe can't come to an agreement, as Mario has stated). After reading the views in other threads, I decided to set up a pole with a few variations. Now not everyone who will play the game is on this forum, but it seems the diehard fans visit and post regularly.

Option 1.
Allow unlimited credit points so that users can create "super players". eg. every stat can be set to 100.

Option 2.
Allow unlimited credit points in friendly fixtures, but apply a limit in competition (NRL season, State of Origin etc).

Option 3.
Apply a limit in all gametypes, thus not allowing users to create "super players".

Personally, to keep everyone happy, I vote for option 2, thus allowing the n00bs to have their "super players" but not allowing them to claim un-warranted credit in competition. Once the game is released, I'd like to visit forums and hear about players going through a season undefeated. This, however, can't happen if players are able to max out stats in create a player because who knows whether they have maxed out a whole team. Everyone keeps saying they want a Rugby League game as realistic as possible. Allowing players to max out stats is far from realistic and will ruin the game in my opinion. I've read a number of posts from users like Eeletricuted (dunno how he spells it), and they keep saying that they won't create these super players, yet they want it available in the game. Anyway, vote away and we'll see what happens.

Option 1 is perfect in every way. It keeps everyone happy 100%. It defies the very foundations of logic that anyone would ever question it.

Option 1 - I wouldn't max out my players but a lot of people might, just for fun or whatever. It keeps everyone happy that way.

I voted for #1, but I think it should be an unlockable cheat. You have to win the NRL on the hardest level, maybe even go undefeated for the entire year to unlock it.

official word from MARIO : there is no cap in place at the moment and this is very unlikely to change before release"

there you have it! no cap (probably)

I think the game was Civilisation 2 that had a lot of cheats built into it. When you had your score posted on the score board it had in big red letters - cheat mode - next to it so everyone knew you had cheated. I think this would be a good option.

what about player idiosyncracies? can we use hoppa's finger, or john's headslams or peachy's arm waving?

you could actually make a "gidley" player who could tackle

Option 2 is best there but there hopefully is one where you have to get to a certain stage in the game where it opens up a "super player" in friendly section and then compete further maybe have to win a premiership on a certain difficulty level or win an origin series to open up "super player" in premiership section.

It should definitely be option one as circumstances change. I believe that the game allows for form trots and slumps but this probably doesn't take into account the major form gains and losses in individual players. Also, I don't know if the game lets you sign players from other clubs - if it doesn't, you would have to edit a player so that they can transfer from one club to another.

Here is an option to keep everyone happy. Player created players can have 100% stats but enforce a limit on the number of created players (say 5 at any one time). The other players can be altered but whatever is added must be taken away from another attribute. If they win the NRL at a specific level they unlock the unlimited amount for all players.
