Cronulla Hotels - Rydges... Quest... Other?

Looking to take my young fella (5 yr old) to a home game and stay the night at a hotel in Cronulla.

Question for the locals... Which hotel is best for easy of access to Shark Park, but also convenient for stuff to do the next morning (cafes, parks, beach etc)?

Do buses usually run from say Rydges and Quest to Shark Park or is that a nightmare on game day?

You can’t go to wrong with either of those, just note it’s busy down there but right near north Cronulla beach, Northies etc.
Dunno if you want to Airbnb - worth a look as I’m sure Rydges will be expensive?
Transport - man it can be dicey. It was once no issue getting the bus which would pick up at Cronulla station and dropped back after the game. Which is like 5 minute walk from Rydges. At the moment it’s a lottery, I didn’t see any buses at that Warriors game and it was raining badly. I tend to get the train to woolooware and walk down, but with your young bloke it could be a stretch. No far and all down hill, but getting back can be a pain.
I’d ask the club about it - they are pretty good with all that stuff.

I'd say those two would be more of a nightmare after the game than before given northies. Your best bet will be the new hotel when it is built. I have family that when they come and visit stay at those two and say its generally ok after a game but it should be considered when booking with the little fella.

Those hotels would be great for the next day to great breakfast at Next Door, Bianchini's or head down to the shelly pools and meet the players for the young bloke. Maybe make a booking not sure how busy the cafes are these days on a Sunday but they were a nightmare before. There is a park there too for him as well as across from the mentioned hotels.

If you drive there are plenty of streets away from captain cook drive that will allow you to get back to one of those places easily on back streets and pretty much avoid the main road and do the drive in 2-3 minutes. Even if you parked near woolo station or one of those side streets it would be a few minute walk depending where you land. My walk home I go via woolooware road for a bit and it isn't rowdy mostly families walking to cars etc. Dunno how it is closer to the station but as mentioned it is one stop and a few minutes if that so might be easier to train it.

Get him a texter and get there early when gates open and send him down to the hill before the ET stand where he can get some selfies, signatures etc. Enjoy mate

I've only stayed at the cheap motor inn, was pretty old and basic but cheap and could walk to town or the ground.

We stayed at the Rydges around this time last year and it was pretty good. Was a gift so we weren't impacted by the room cost.
We decided to Uber to the game a bit early which was pretty seamless although I wouldn't rely on it if it's getting close to game time with all the other traffic around.
We got the courtesy bus back to Cronulla which was easy as. It did drop us at Cronulla Train station though so a few blocks walk back to the hotel.
Didn't notice much noise from Northies but it was a stormy night so that may have kept the crowd down/inside.

We were out Friday night - cold and no one around after 1000pm. Whether it is winter or the fact folk are sticking close to home in the current economic environment - not sure. But staying at Rydges, the noise is nominal. Don’t be put off by the bus from the station either, it’s about 5 minute walk from station to end of the mall.
It’s still a good night/ day out in my mind .
