Cronulla + Premiership = Never Happen?

John Lang seems to have the Penrith Panthers running like a well oiled machine, with very very few representative players...

why could he not do it with Cronulla?

I thought John wasa very good QRL coach who got found out at the next level, but now he seems to be making a purse out of a pigs ear (all due respect to Penrith).

Chris Anderson seems to be struggling with the team he has, essentially the same as John had.

Is there a problem with the club that is Cronullla?

While I dont think the Panthers are 'shoe-ins' for the first weekend in October, they are certainly turning it up this season.

On another note, as a resident Melburnian (Roosters supporter for those who have forgotten) why oh why did the Storm let Whatuira go?

Hi Hazy.

Firstly the Storm let Whatuira go because of Salary cap problems and he did have quite a few injuries at that time......what a shame because he's been doing so well for the Panthers and we certainy could have used him now, with such a horrendous injury list.

Back to the Panthers/Cronulla topic......call it what you like, but personally I don't want Chris Anderson or Brett Kimmorley to do well at the Sharks....I don;t hold any annomisity towards the Sharks though......and now it looks like Scott Hill is crossing over to the Sharks.....typical.....he's recovering from all those terrible injuries he's had with the Storm and he;ll probably be fit to play with Cronulla.....
I just hate what those 2 (Anderson and Kimmorley) did to the Storm/supporters and some of the players.

I thought the Sharks did quite well under coach Lang, no premierships but the sharks were in the finals each year.
As a Sharks fan I am very unhappy about Anderson and his attitude and hope we do not win any premierships under him, whats another couple of years waiting.
Your are correct however, Cronulla along with just about every Sydney club will struggle to win premierships against the One City, One team clubs until the number of Sydney teams is reduced.
I findthis is reflected on the table, towards the bottom are Sydney based clubs, it is the same in AFL look at the bottom of the table and you see many Melbourne based clubs. This is no coincidence.
