Any amateur forecasters looking at next saturday's match Cowboys vs Sharks would want to take note that things are looking pretty horrendous weather-wise up North for the foreseeable future. I can't see more than 9k to be frank based on Saturday's crowd and the opposition we're facing (no disrespect).

If weather goes as it's forecast I actually think there's a very real chance the match won't be played at all.

I agree. Nobody likes coming to their local ground to watch their side get beat in the wet

I said it earlier in this thread, but they seriously have to look at swapping this to a cronulla home game and making rd 26 up here. Surely it wouldn't be that hard as cronulla own shark park and would probably love another home game to build momentum and it was also enhance their preperation with the short turn and then not having to travel up here.

I think there's been 20cm of rain here today with more of the same tomorrow. It's been insane in all honesty, that low in the gulf is just sucking all the rubbish weather from up near png and spinning it towards us.

I totally agree but it won't happen, too short notice I'd imagine

Nth Qld must have done something horrible for the karma they are getting in bad weather - must be because of Bob Katter.

Spot on DOW. The roosters do have a large following unfortunatly like a lot of other clubs fans some of our supporters have this mentality to watch the game at home or the pub if we have a low period. When we are winning and creating that buzz everyone seems to want to go to the game but the club needs to try and get everyone to go watch there team whether there winning or losing as its an event and supporting there team.

The die hards will always go however the club needs to put more of an effort into making the game an event and actually promoting the games which they lack in doing. Its also why season ticketed membership is so important.

Agreed.

The club is trying to improve overall attendance despite form with the membership drive of the last 2 years and the rewards are already there to see. Despite being below average crowds, we have still drawn more fans to our 1st 2 home games than we have historically against eh same opposition.

In addition to this I have always felt that with the size of the stadium and unless it is ANZAC day or another match where a big crowd is expected that all children under 16 should get in for free.

The price change at the SFS for this year is also perplexing. An adult ticket has gone up to $30 with a family remaining at $50. So if you are going with the mrs or a mate it is cheaper to get the family ticket and waste the children passes than pay for 2 adult tickets.

It passed through Cairns earlier in the night and that was bad enough but really only a bit of rain. Then came the morning and our 000 lines lit up with the overflow from Townsville. The overflow was much busier than we were as the primary call centre the night before.

And more to come I think? Good times.

I notice that parts of Townsville have had over 1000 mm's of rain this year already.
Amazing.

NRL- 'here cowboys, have 3 of your first 4 games at home'..........

merkins.

Apologies that I keep banging on about it but it boils my blood that the NRL has done this to us, the rain has stopped for probably an hour today but other than that it has been hosing down. I just wish the NRL would use their f**king head, Canberra and NZ need home games this time of the year as it is generally more pleasant now than later in the winter (first canberra home game aside)

The roads are cut again both north and south out of tvl so f**k knows how many people will bail on the idea of coming here for the game on the weekend.

If we are comparing this seasons average to the all time high of 2005, you have to take into consideration that back in 05 there were 3 matches played every Sunday afternoon, and no MNF to drag crowds down.

True but the goal should be to grow attendance averages at all matches, regardless of timeslots.

Round 4 Crowd verdicts:
PAR vs PEN
Due to Parra's woeful form and Penrith not fairing much better theres no chance of a full house this season, even on a Friday night. 14-16,000
SOU vs BRI
Seeing as the same fixture got over 15,000 on one of the wettest games of the season there should be a great turn out on the western end. 15-18,000
WAR vs GCT
Not sure how the weather will fare on a Saturday night in NZ, but a decent turn up is expected. 13-16,000
SGI vs MAN
Match of the round, full house expected even against Manly. 17-19,000
NQLvs CRO
Given on what ive heard on the swarming weather up there recently, expect another low crowd although a touch higher than last week. 10-13,000
MEL vs SYD
Not a whole lot of hype about this one. 10-12,000
CBA vs NEW
While Canterbury is on hot form and Bennett's men will be desperate for a win, I can't forsee it breaking the 20k mark. 16-19,000
WST vs CAN
Always seem to be a more than decent crowd between these two and it should'nt be overly different this Monday. 14-16,000
