Townsville population 179,000 - 17,700 = 9%
Canberras population 379,000 (9%) = 37,000

Get a crowd of 37,000 for a regular season game, then we will talk about passion.
!

Canberra population 380K
average crowd for the only NRL side there 10.6K
& our average will be closer to 12K by years end ,approx. 3% of canberrans attending

Brisbane Population 2 Million
average crowd for the only NRL side there
32K & falling .... rapidly , it will be lucky to stay above 30K
so approx. 1.5% of unmotivated lazy brisbanites attending

:sarcasm:

& when was the last time the Bwoncos played in temps of 2c
oh right
never ;-)

Qlders ....passionless myths & officially
the worst & least motivated fans in the NRL

end of

17k at 1300SMILES is a great crowd given it was what, 12 v 13?

6 v 16 getting 23k is pretty good too... I can't blame Eels fans for not turning up tbh

Yes my brother at the game said there was hardly any parra fans.

Lets see how dragons fans respond to their win against souths and hopefully turn up

If ticket prices don't fall and I mean fall drastically the NRL is in for a world of pain crowd wise from now on

Why? Up until 7 weeks ago we were on track to record our highest ever season for crowds and could still get there by the end of the season. Why are people falling for this daily telegraph garbage? There are some things that need to be fixed up during the rep season which will increase crowds but it is hardly at crisis point. The afl dropped 300000 fans last year yet the media weren't writing crisis stories for them. The waratahs crowds have halved in 10 years, havnt read crisis stories about them. Stop panicking people!

We have the highest away crowd average in the comp. The only time the Tits will get a better crowd is against the Broncos. If they can't get 16k+ they're kidding themselves.

It's only 3 and a half hours from Coffs to the Gold Coast. Instead of plonking yourself in front of the computer fapping over Phil Hughes all day hop in your car and go and watch the game. And get a root while you're there.

I reckon about 85k down with 54 games to play -could still go close to the record with some good rounds.

tbf the game avg has barely changed in 8 years, including the likely outcome of this year. we had an avg of 16,500 in 2005 whoch dropped for 3 years to around 15,500 then went ack up to 16,000 in 2009 and has been around 16,000-16,400 since. There hasn't been any significant difference and when you take into accoutnt population growth the attendances have gone backwards per head of population attending.

It's good news were not dropping but not great news we are static. Will be very interesting to see how the NRL truns it around to increase it to their goal of 20,000 avg.

Before this weekend we needed a further 1,005,342 fans to attend the remaining 56 games to equal last years total. That's an average of 17,952 per game. We have had just four rounds this season so far where the average crowd for that round topped that figure.

In 2012 the last 56 games of the season drew 915,180 fans at an average of 16,342 per game.

So for us to top last years total we are going to have to average 1,200 extra fans to the remaining games over what we did last season.

PR I don't see the NRL reaching a 20,000 game average, not in my lifetime anyway and certainly not with its current competition set up. To reach that average that would mean a figure of 3,840,000 fans attending.

Over 192 game season like we presently have, that would mean an extra 650,000 fans attending games. As I said I don't expect to see that happening in my lifetime.
