Anyone know home many turned up last night? From the TV it looked like a fair few people turned out and there weren't that many seats.

Good weather.
1st game of the year.
New coach, and new expectations.
Playing against MANLY!

The only negative was that we hadn't won before last night.

All signs pointed to a healthy crowd, and that's what we got.
Next home game is against the Cowboys on Easter Saturday. Could struggle for a crowd there.

An out of town team with no supporters in Sydney.
Not a Premiership heavyweight that draws crowds.
Long weekend, meaning lots of people are away on holidays.

This will be a test of how our crowds will be this year.
We need a respectable figure, so come on guys! BE THERE!!!

And on the negative Richo was a 5;30pm kickoff which traditionally is not one of our best. i think if that game had been played at 7;30 we would have got over 16000. Manly didn't have many supporters there. Overall I was pleasently surprised as I expected something more like 12000. But got to admit the corwd was very subdued. I think our crowds only tend to get really fired up for big games.

If we win next week then I would expect at least 14000 for the Cowboys.

Has the footy suddenly become cool again?

The crowd did seem very subdued last night, but I thought 15 000+ was a good turnout.

I can't see a real big crowd for this game either unfortunately. But I will be there to see the Sharks rack up another win

You would also have to factor in the fact that there were 1500 dancers on the field last night, so for every kid there is another 2 ppl that come to see them (i.e. parent/s, siblings, grandparents etc). So that always adds a few thousand crowd.

I was there but I'm taping the game on fox today to see what happened. Lets just say I got a bit excited in the pub about four hours before kick off.
Yesterday was spent apologisng to people whom I may of offended. Comments varied from nooo you were funny to you need to have an appointment with some professional doctors.... you were scaring me.
I can't remember going to two different pubs after the game, attrocious behaviour.
This is all I have.....
someone who looked like Guy Sebastion , a very old man , plastic cups , taxi line , chinese food , girlfriends sister and her friend in matching tracksuits ???,
telling a very grounded intelligent lady how to live her life....
I'm still sick today. :(

15000 isn't good enough. What is wrong with the Shire folk. They need a kick in the arse.

Yes, the new ground announcer was a bit of a wanker.

I guess its hard to rev up a crowd, especially when all we wanted was for the game to start.

I thought over 15,500 was pretty good considering it was the first home game of the year following two losses, and also the fact that there were hardly any Manly fans contributing to the total

The number was respectable comparitively yes, but I can't believe more Shire folk don't get behind the team regardless of results. It doesn't make sense to me! They should get 20000 a week.

That fat Manly supporter sitting near the army counts as at least 3 members of that Manly crowd!

EDIT; I've been told it's someone who posts on this website. I'm an arsehole, but I'm not a merkin.
