CROWDS

Before i start, this is a question, not a cheat shot at your whore of a club ( ;-) ).

I would like to hear from you lot as to why you think the crowds have improved so much this season compared to the past 4 years?

From a performance point of view, i cannot remember exactly, but i am pretty sure the JV was still in the top 8 at this point of the season in 2000 (sliding quickly).

From a management point of view, they are the same inept plebs that have been there for the past few years.

From a culture point of view, the JV has moved further away from its roots than ever before except for the retro jerseys, which i think was a master stroke.

From a coaching point of view, Timothy has obviously had a good impact on the JV, however Wests have been beaten worse this year in a few games than in any other season.

From a players point of view, a large number of new players. I suppose none of them have caused ANY trouble and most have played better for Wests than they have for any of their previous clubs.

From a stadium point of view, nothing has changed, however with Telstra Stadium now involved, maybe th fans wanted to talk with their feet and prove a point?

:!: Better season, exciting crop of fresh talent, Super league has been and gone. Merging has been and gone. All crowds are up in the league. Stability is back. People are happy. :!:

From a performance point of view, i cannot remember exactly, but i am pretty sure the JV was still in the top 8 at this point of the season in 2000 (sliding quickly).

:!: First years of joint vebture hard for some to embrace at first. Most people that lost interest are back. :!:

From a management point of view, they are the same inept plebs that have been there for the past few years.

:!: If we win the comp in the next three years will u still whinge about management tigger???? We have had a mixture of bad luck, crap buys, disgraceful behaviour, foul play, inept coaching, players backing emselves to loose. :!:

:!: And now things are new and exciting :!:

From a culture point of view, the JV has moved further away from its roots than ever before except for the retro jerseys, which i think was a master stroke.

:!: AGREED! Somewhat of a seperate direction is necessary though in terms of objectives forthe clubs :!:

From a coaching point of view, Timothy has obviously had a good impact on the JV, however Wests have been beaten worse this year in a few games than in any other season.

 Yes but are two big defeats have been balanced by wins as our +1 f/a dictates

From a players point of view, a large number of new players. I suppose none of them have caused ANY trouble and most have played better for Wests than they have for any of their previous clubs.

:D Thanks sheens :D

 Maube but if the club wins people will go, it will just be quiet and well hear that announcer more

If the boys loose play with no prideas they did for a month (pre storm) people will stay home and not pay to watch em, simple as that

I think its mainly time. In 2000 a lot of people thought like tigger does, and wouldn't have a bar of the JV.

Now a lot of these fans are ready to come on board, and having improved our image, and had some on field success we're seeing the resultant increase in crowds.

although from the stadium point of view, only having 4 games at leichardt this year, has probably made some people more likely to go to the games we do have.

i think it has to do with our image and preformance over the past two years, people understand we are in with a chance and are happy to watch .

Is there any reason for your concerns ?

Ummm, because the success of your 'JV' has a direct result on my Club which owns 50% of your club.

I think its a combination of things, a coach doing his job, top 8 contention, a side that isn't giving up, youth that has potential a ring of the 80's is starting to come back into the clubs

You could be right and they did have good crowds back then, I guess its 4yrs ago and people in some part have moved on like you did on Sunday ;-)

Of course there are and some have been there for far too long but thats not just for the WTS, both Balmain and Wests both have Plebs leading the way if you know what I mean ;-)

You do have a point on this however it is the WTS and not Balmain or Wests so they do need to create there own history

Fair call I think a mixture of that and the fact that we will have at least 4 calling it quits at seasons end could also have alot to do with the side lifting and being in the position they currently are on the ladder

That could be the case but given that TS has been on Balmain's plans for sometime now it was only going to be a matter of time as to if the WTS would move there before or after the Tiger Dome was finished

I tend to think that there was a number of reasons why people came to the ground the main reasons being

Tigers vs Souths always draw good crowds
Retro Jersey's
Senters last game at Leichhardt
A chance to be in the top 8
Last home game at the Den
STR

Yeah I agree with Milchow....in part:

1)Sevens victory

2)More Balmain and Magpies fans finally accepting the JV.(1 wouldve helped here)

3)Reduction of traditional home games

4)Scott Sattler.

5)Positive press

tigger is right not much has changed in management or position on table we got flogged pretty bad in couple games . Now we are showing huge potential we arent seing our players coming into the club and straight out to other clubs . I reckon that is huge IMAGINE we saw halatau in raiders jersey next year and benji in broncos we would be pissed right off and say things never change. But tim has changed that you want to support the players cos they are staying at the moment and they have a great leader in sattler !
