If Baia and Coupet so great, why aren't they first choice for their country?

Baia isn 't Portugal goalkeeper because is Scolari choice. But Baia has won the trophy of the best goalkeeper of Champion's league. Coupet isn't titular because Barthez has more experience, but in the ligue 1 he is the best.
