They lost inglis spastic. White and Hoffman as well.

Yeah but they kept the 3 players they wanted the most

There's no way Eels will lose any of Norman,Foran,Semi or Jennings

We will just lose watmough and maybe one or 2 average players like Gower and Terepo

I'm probably just saying this because they're playing my team next and are going to be fired up and will likely demolish us, but...

Should Parramatta fail to get under the cap in time, surely they must have to forfeit the game? How can they play again with a team that has been charged with cheating? TBH everyone they've beaten should get the two points too.

That's loser talk.

Should Broncos, Cowboys and Panthers all get an extra 2 points for beating cheats?

I'm not sure if this 7/12 of the cap year already passed means anything. As far as i can tell they are saying the Eels squad is $570k over the yearly cap, so if you only take the remaining 5/12 of the players salary off then you have to take the same fraction off the yearly cap and the exceeded amount as well.
If they manage to remove Watmough's salary off the cap and/or prove that some of the TPA's that have been bundled in were legit then they will be under and technically have been all year

In saying that the club needs to pay for what has happened and i don't think i would really feel a premiership this year as deserved if we did manage to go on from here. And other teams fans would rightly feel outraged.

If they don't get under in time (and there's no reason they shouldn't) then they should just turn up and play as Melbourne did. If they win, they get no points. As far as I'm concerned, the line in the sand was drawn in 2010.

The edict is clear, no points while over the cap. Personally I'd like to see them cop what Melbourne did and have any wins count for zilch. As Greenberg said, it was soul destroying for the club and the fans in 2010. I have no problem with Parra or any other team caught cheating the cap having to walk a mile in Melbourne's shoes.

They have 10 days to get their act together. If they can't then they don't deserve to play for points.

What about the teams who have already lost to parra? Those are the teams that have the most reason to complain.

It's always a bit of a shit fight after these sorts of issues.

Same arguments were broached when the Dogs and the Storm went over.

I think the answer is that unfortunately there is no perfect solution and so we need to just carry on.

You can't kick them out for 12 months as it would go against the broadcasting commitments and would also alienate a whole group of fans from the game.

Basically, the other teams in the comp just need to suck it up and play on as if nothing has happened.

I think the relaxed stance the NRL has taken on this when compared to the Storm case (i.e. Allowing Parra to compete for points moving forward) has everything to do with them wanting to move the board on. By tying these 5 guys to the conditions, it ensures that they are isolated from the club, and will face pressure from the fans/players/staff if they want to continue to fight and wind up being the only reason why points are held back. The NRL is basically calling Sharps bluff when he said he would stand down if it meant Parra would not lose any points - obviously that's not the current deal (they already lost all their points regardless) but it's kinda the same situation now where they are prevented from accumulating any points while these guys hold their positions.

lol no mate

You'll have to shed some big contracts as any reggies you lose will need to be replaced with reggies on minimum wage

Also, if Choc gets an insurance payout his salary wont be able to be removed from this years cap, only next year

You should apply for a board position.

With your head in the sand, you'd fit right in!

Sounds similar to the Dallas Johnson release at Melbourne...

Cowboys arent a rich club
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-...ys-players-property-deals-above-board/6654168

just some rich friends,,,

Think about

Thurston - 1.2
Morgan - 700
Tamulalo - 750
Tamou- 700
Coote - 500
Scott - 700

what are the other 19 on ... ??

From memory of what was reported in the media, I think you'll find thurston is on $1mil flat

Taumalolo $500k (warriors offered a mil a year for 2 years and he knocked it back to stay, there was an article where he says he knocked back a mil to stay in NQ, I havent looked it up but I'm sure it's there.
Coote $300-350 (current deal, remember he was coming to us on the back of some lengthy injuries)

I'd be surprised if Tamou is on $700k, more like $550-$600k

The others you mention, I wouldn't have a clue.

We do have a few players that would be on f**k all you would imagine like Feldt, Bolton, Hannant, Linnet.

We will be losing a heap at the end of the year so you guys will be happy......

On NRL 360 last night Todd Greenburg confirmed that if Watmough retires through injury there would be an allowance for Parramatta for this season and that would go a LONG way towards rectifying the cap issue for Parramatta

The PROBLEM with relying on this is that a process has to be gone through and Choc has to be forced to retire and requires medical backing for his decision.

It seemed he was stating that this wouldn't be an immediate rectification for Parramatta's woes regarding the cap as it might take too long to reach a conclusion before their next game is here.

If that takes say 2 months to sort out and they're relying on that to get under the cap - they can't earn any points for the next 8 weeks.

They'll be playing to avoid the spoon if that's the case, not make the finals

He supports Parramatta

They're never f**king happy :p

I never trust the reported salaries you read in bleedin' newspaper articles anyway
They often pick figures out of the air and add in Third Party deals blah blah blah

But yes, the Cowboys will be under cap pressure - it's the nature of success...... well and wooden spoons apparently
