Do they ?

Actually, everyone knows that Brisbane players much easily source TPA's than other clubs, which is legal under the rules. That's the advantage, but it's within the rules so we'll take that advantage.

I think the biggest advantage that Brisbane have over southern clubs is the cost of real estate.

If I had an offer from a Sydney club for $500,000 against an offer from Brisbane for $400,000-$450,000, I'd take the Bronco's deal every time. Of course that is based on economics alone and does not factor in family etc

But you compare what house you get in Sydney for $1 million to $1.5 million with what you get in Brisbane for the same money and the difference is staggering.

Not saying that its a cheating thing at all, but it is a very clear and distinct advantage that the Bronco's have over teams in Sydney.

I don't agree that's a 'safe assumption'.

He may not have wanted to answer questions as to not incriminate himself, or others, in some way. Again, if he had shady personal deals going on, he may not have wanted to explain this to the NRL, which may have passed on info to other sources.

Which is exactly what I meant. Its obvious he is hiding something and that the club was involved by providing the money. Whether its salary cap related or just some personal deal nobody knows. The same as nobody knows why he stepped down or was fired. You guys are kidding yourselves if you think people aren't going to look at these facts and draw conclusions.

Don't all QLD teams players just get free houses anyway ?

what, you mean the sharks aren't throwing in a bonus shark park apartment with every contract signed?

such a wasted opportunity...

- close to training
- walking distance to northies
- ensures at least 25 people actually live in that monstrosity..

How else do you think we are coming equal first with the QLDers?

You honestly think the NRL has handed down a punishment to Parramatta without outlining the details of the case made against them to the relevant parties?

They haven't handed down a punishment. They have made a threat & then outlined some very quick actions that must be taken. Maybe other actions than HQ have suggested are more appropriate for the club.

dunno.. a lucky draw & parra points sanctions, perhaps?

This makes no sense.
Sharks have played the other three leaders of the comp,, Bronco's, Cowboys and Storm and are yet to play the bottom two, Roosters and Knights. Not that lucky.
How does the Parra points sanctions come into it? They were below us before it happened.

Not your best effort with that one.

Choose to stare all common sense and logic in the face without accepting it all you like.

But don't play the sanctimonious "show me the source" crap when everyone knows how that whole thing went down.

Everyone knows?? Yeah sure. If everyone knows we haven't we been caught & proven to have cheated the cap?

People now reporting the NRL refused to meet with the club yesterday because the five muppets aren't stepping down....seriously, I'm all for sacking these shit merkins, but surely the NRL is playing right into their hands regarding their procedural fairness argument by cancelling a meeting with the salary cap guys to try and get the team under?

Worked with a bloke for a few years before he moved back to Brisbane. He rang me six months later with a job offer that was paying less than what I was used to but gave me a cost of living/housing affordability run down for Sydney and Brisbane. So it's a reasonable point you raise.
