The positional award have never gone off points per position which is so f*cking stupid.

Jimmy Maloney has been solid all year but Milford and Moses both polled more votes than him.

It's almost like they just go off the result from the previous round of footy.. Duhhhhh Maloney had a great game against Nth QLD and Cronulla are in the GF so let's give it to him, everyone always says Bromwhich is the best prop so we will just give it to him as well why not.

Check the votes you cretins
I got no problem with them doing things a little differently for the positional awards, but they need to be consistent. Smith got hooker because he scored higher, no one outside of Melbourne thinks he was the best hooker of the year.

Wait so let me get this right.
People here are complaining about other players getting more points then those in the team of the year, but want Hodgson over Smith. Makes sense

Yeah the positional awards are comical.

Papalii 11 points
Gillett 6 points

Gillett 2nd rower of the year. Seems legit. Paps and Harris were the best backrowers this year.

Rapana, Paps and Hodgson all snubbed.

The standard of women's rugby league is f**king shit and terrible to watch. You guys are all sucked into the political correctness that Australian sport is going through at the moment.
As for the ceremony, what a shabby unorganized piece of shit it was. Afl may be an inferior sport...but at least they have their shit together when it comes to promoting the game.
Lots of talk about shit.

Something you'd know a lot about given you're full of it.

The Dally M's did get one thing right though....the main result. The two best players did the award that they deserved.

Final top ten for those who missed it

Hodgson was extremely unlucky considering 6/9 of the team had a first name starting with J. In fact three players were somehow overlooked for positional awards...

H Josh Hodgson
SR Josh Jackson
1/2 Jonathan Thurston

Would have rounded out the J team.

The positional awards are just randomly handed out really. Gillet over papalii is a much stranger pick than smith over Hodgson

Rapana and mansour were pretty even tbh

That I agree with. Papalii got 11 points to Gilett's 6. Go figure.

Heaps of positions went to players on less points. I dont mind that but it's all rather arbitrary. I dont think one can use dally m points to argue one way or the other.

Even beej finished on less points than croker

discussing this over here in England we had already concluded that before the awards hodgson would be snubbed due to been English, we are rooting for the sharks to smash the boring storm and the massively over rated cameroon smiff

Rapana was far and away the best winger this season. Mansour was good but Rapana was on a whole different level.

Smith tallied based on reputation, Hodgson was by far the best hooker this year at any club, it's not even up for debate, it's like how JT won the Clive Churchill medal last year, he was far from the best player on the ground but just by default because of who he is and what he's achieved in the game, he's given accolades based on reputation
