Thurston will win it easily
I've seen a game were taumololo was easily the cowboys best, yet Thurston got man of the match and 3 Dally M points
Same with Micheal morgan, granville and coote, all should of received MOM/3dally m points in games were they went to Thurston instead

I'd say if you're a halfback, who takes up 1/6th of your teams salary cap, then yes, winning a premiership is a true testament.

Dally M is basically the best overall player in that season. It counts for more. Is JT a future immortal. Yes. Of course.

Thurston has played most of his career with lesser teammates then Johns.

Ben Barba, Preston Campbell and matt Orford have all won dally M's. ( good players but maybe short of all time greats)
Darren Lockyer, Brad Fittler and Mal Meninga have 0 Dally Ms between despite being undoubted greats of the game and being the 3 long term australia captains between 1990-2011.

How many have won as many as Thurston? How many players have reached the same accolades as JT? Barba won it on his outstanding season. Of course he isn't an immortal. One season wonder.

But the dally m isn't just the best player for his team. It is the overall best player. 20+ games. He would be collecting points win lose or draw. That's based on his performances within those games.

Don't let the fapping over Johns cloud your judgement of Thurston.

Dally M is owned by a media company, and judged by its journo's. Its subject to the bias and opinions of this journalist. The whole media narrative this year has been 'is JT the best of all time?' Or 'is JT better than johns?' Him winning another dally M will just further fuel this story. It seems they are trying everything to gift him the medal ( even though he would be a good chances of winning it anyway). He received 3 points 4 times in a row even though taumololo, granville and Morgan put in MOM performances in that string of games.
in terms of JT's being the greatest of all time, I can't place him above cam smith, inglis, slater or cronk, they are all so good. Lockyer was better.

So winning a comp means more does it? So many nuffies have won the competition as either bench players or simply shit house first graders. Just look at souths from last season. Goodwin?

In terms of being the best judgement in determining the way overall player, the dally m is a better option then winning the comp.

I'll admit one thing though. Some of the judges that select the top 3 from each game can be very biased.
