I presume everyone knows Daniel's role at the club.... (CEO, who is elected by the board who is in turn elected by us the members).

Surely one of his major tasks as CEO is to make Balmain DRLFC & Leagues Club stronger both financially and community wise. Can anyone remember anything that has been done in the past 5 years that remotely resembles him fufiling this task?

In business, if you fail, you either get sacked by the board or by your creditors. Correct me if i am wrong, but there has ONLY been failure by Balmain in the past 5 years? But no action? Have a look at our financials, even a year 5 student can see they have become worse, whilst most clubs have prospered! I am sure that demographics and being close to thr Casino aren't helping the situation, but surely the 'Ooooohhhh Well' method of doing business is not working, and this is all i have ever heard from Munk and his support.

The only way forward is a new CEO and possibly a new board and may i even suggest private ownership? Let the place get run like a business and see what happens.... it can't be any worst than the crap they have come up with for the past 5 years.

I couldn't agree more.
We are run by a bunch of amateurs and until we get people in charge who are professional business men we will struggle on and off the field.

the best clubs have the most professional boards....we still suck..

I personally dont think a new CEO is going to change the direction at Balmain. At the moment the club is facing problems in all directions. Obviously since Star City came in they've lost a lot of customers and the pokie tax is now an even bigger problem.

Bye the way which clubs have prospered???? MY understanding is that most are under threat from things such as the pokie tax. Remember too that Tigers is only 10 mins from star city, where as Parra Leagues for example is 30 mins away, its much easier for them to attract the locals than for us.

i dont think the casino has taken much business away from the leagues club, very different people go to the casino then those who go to the club, you have to pay for parking at the casinio if you can find any then there is people every where those older people still prefer the club scene
