Danny Kanell went from being a starting quarterback in the NFL to having trouble getting teams to return his calls. He played minor league baseball for a year, spent a season in the Arena League and even coached at his high school. Go figure now he`s back and ready to go for his new team the Denver Broncos and will start this weekend.

Will he be the next Tommy Maddox or Kurt Warner? No matter, Kanell is going to enjoy his time as the starter for the Denver Broncos for however long it lasts. Kanell began his career with the New York Giants in 1996 and became the starter six games into his second season after Dave Brown was injured. Kanell led New York to a 7-2-1 record and the NFC East title.

But it went downhill from there. lol who`d have thought....

He started the first 10 games in 1998 before being replaced by Kent Graham after a 3-7 start. He signed as a free agent with Atlanta the next season, but lasted only three games before going on injured reserve.

In 2000, Kanell played five games and the Falcons didn't re-sign him after the season. He sent letters to about 15 NFL teams hoping for another shot, but no one was interested.

yeah. he was a last resort after both the starting QB (jake 'the' Plummer) and 2nd Starting QB (Steve Beuerlein) have been sidelined with injuries. its a shme two with the plummer leading the broncos to one of their best season starts in awhile. i just hope that Karnell does a ood job, but not to good a job or th jake wont have a job!

Tell you what shagmop, if Kanell does so much of a good job while Plummers out for some time Kanell mighten loose his job all season. Who knows maybe he is a next Warner/Maddox mold type guy who gets upand finall fater so many years of "trying too hard" to prove himself he`s found the right team to exploit his situation thru.

i doubt that he would take over plaummers job. plummer has lead the broncos briliantly this season and it would require a miricle game or 2 for him to make the broncos coaches want to put plummer on the bench. i dont think its possible.

but your right in saying that he has found the right club. its not that often that u find a club with both QB's out at the same time. i think its very unlucky on the broncos part.

Nah i`m gunna have to agree with Paully and go with Sporatic if anything.., he can`t take a hit really and thats his down fall amongst a few other areas. Anyways here are Danny Kanells stats, he wasn`t really with it but did "OKish" LOL even tho Denver went down 26-6 to Baltimore.

Kanell:

16/31 with 116 yards with 0 Td`s and 2 Int`s.
ran twice for 9 yards lmao.

I didnt see the game so i cant really comment on him that well, but those stats show that he is well and truely a 3rd stringer

LOL yeah he`ll get next week to prove himself again tho i`d say. But yes 3rd string with the numbers. Lets wait and see though. I like to give a player a chance to prove himself and give him a red hot showing first over a couple of weeks before I really start to comment and analyse but yeah sometimes performances warrant jawing off about, I don`t think his quite needed that just yet.

I thought Plummer had played superbly after his initial rocky start. His game against Oakland was excellent.

We really need him back on deck ASAP but things are getting worse with John Mobley stretchered off against Baltimore. We are already missing Ian Gold and now Mobley. After a 5-0 start we are now 5-3 and things are looking grim. :(

i here ya buddy. the last thing that this tem needed is a couple of key players to be out with injuries. it was the best start to the season imaginable but it looks downhill from here. i just hope we get the players back in time. plummer has played superbly and has really lifted the broncos. i just hope when he gets back they can put the team back on track. i want at least one of my tems to make it to the playoffs!
