Whilst sitting here doing the midnight shift (attempting to anyway), I did some lurking around onsome sports Web sites out there, and found that Bulldogs utility forward and Queensland representative Darren Smith, has signed for another season with the Doggies.
Smith might be in his early 30's (33 I think),but he is still a top notch player and deserves another season with the Doggies. The fact that he can practically play in any position from 1 to 13, makes him one of the most versatile players ever for the Bulldogs and the NRL. He's always been one of the more favourite players of mine due to his 100% effort week in week out, and on the eve of theSemi Finals it comes as a boosting news for hisBulldog team mates and supporters. Smith can still cut it with many of the younger players in the NRL and his decission to play out another season, with so much still to offer, is the correct one in my opinion.
I'm also glad that he didn't decide to go over to the English Super League as so many have been doing of late .. well at least not for another season anyway.
Bring on The Sharks.
Go the Bulldoggies!
