It could also have been more a specific rule to where i was, my unit was part of the Ready Deployment force so were on a constant short time line to be ready to deploy and if you had a healing tatt you couldnt deploy. Same as if you got a number 1 haircut you could be charged because of sunburn to the head affecting your deployment readiness, also had to be up to date with dental and all injections at all times.

Yep, I was RRF in Darwin, and we had the same thing - We were rotated through it so you'd have a break for a bit if you wanted to get something done - The haircut thing always confused me given we were made to get that exact hair cut at Kapooka
