After missing out on Herbie Farnworth and Thomas Flegler, the Brisbane Broncos have made a last minute bid to secure the services of the former Broncos.

The CM is reporting that the Broncos were approached by Fifita's management last month to see if there was any interest but were turned down as the Broncos tried to secure Flegler & Farnworth.

The Gold Coast Titans and Canberra Raiders are also interested in Fifita's services with Canberra offering a $900,000 p.a. three year deal.

It's still early days but if the story is to be believed, the Broncos have had this in their back-pocket the entire time. While they haven't officially expressed their interest, it's worth acknowledging the story since it'll reflect on the club and their capacity to sign talent.

If they do secure his services, it will be an upgrade on their current stocks. Riki has been making year-on-year improvements since coming to Australia but he hasn't been as explosive as Fifita. The question is, how much is Fifita willing to sacrifice to return to the club and how much improvement does he have left in him? He can be explosive with the football, but defensively his technique is flawed and he lacks some variation in his game.

It was a nice idea but I think your pack is very good this season. 2023 will see a lot of movement in the market and I'd back Brisbane to secure the right player when the opportunity arises.

Also, great win over us on the weekend. Really physical and controlled the tempo well. Your ruck control was fantastic, it was slow but it didn't draw any attention.
