Peachey charged with contrary conduct
Three Cronulla players including captain David Peachey have been charged by the NRL judiciary following Saturday night's dramatic match at Parramatta Stadium.
Peachey, who as sent off for the first time in his first grade career during his side's 74-4 loss to Parramatta, could face a two week ban after being charged with grade three contrary conduct by the judiciary.
The former NSW fullback was dismissed for dissent early in the second half after clashing with referee Shayne Hayne.
Young forwards Dale Newton and Reece Williams were charged with grade three and grade four careless high tackle offences respectively.
Newton, who has 80 carry-over points after being charged earlier this year, could face a four week ban over his tackle on Parramatta front rower Daniel Heckenberg in the 53rd minute.
Williams, playing only his second game in the top grade, could face a two week ban for a tackle in the 68th minute of the match.
Sharks officials met with the NRL on Monday morning in the wake of Saturday night's game, which coach Chris Anderson described as a "debacle".
Two other players - Sydney Roosters five-eighth Chris Flannery and Warriors hooker Tavita Latu - were charged with grade one dangerous throw offences.
Flannery could face a one week ban for his 46th minute tackle on Anthony Watmough while Latu could face a similar time on the sideline.
