Dean Caldwell?

Does anyone know what the injury situation with young Dean Caldwell is? I've heard conflicting reports from various sources and now I'm just totally confused. On one hand I've heard the damage to his knee is irrepairable and he has no chance of ever making it back onto the field, on the other I've heard he is being considered for a Premier League place next year. It would be very sad if Dean has been forced to give up the game.

Can anyone in the know tell us what the REAL situation is?

Lets hope the worst isn't true - Dean has (or possibly had) the ability to go all the way in league, it was bad enough to see Bryan Dickson forced to retire this year it'd be a black year for Balmain if we end up losing two of our brightest talents (three if we count Dave Pangai signing with easts )
